ihome docking in otterbox commuter case

Hi everyone,

My daughter has an iphone 4 in an otterbox commuter case. She has an ihome speaker. She tells me the iphone won't fit on the dock of the ihome while it is in the otterbox case. Does anyone know a workaround for this? Is there a dock extender, or something that will allow the phone to fit on the ihome dock? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Only solution I can suggest is to take the case off the iPhone and then place it on the iHome dock. But I know that I would rather have my iPhone cased on the dock rather than bare and prone to scratches/accidentall falls without protection if it is docked loosely...

Well, that is what she was doing. Then, one day she was in a hurry to get to class, didn't put it in the case, and then dropped it and broke the screen! There should be a dock extender or some other workaround.

With a quick Google search, there are dock extenders available to fit the iHome docking station.

With a relatively cheap price, she can even show off her personality by picking her favorite color.

This is what I use and it works great!

I also have their version that has a six inch cable between the connectors. I have two iHome systems in different places.
