I have a new iPhone and when I try to download Apps this message comes up: "Cannot connect to iTunes Store"
Before this message started appearing it was asking me for my iTunes password. I put in my Apple password but that did not work.
Anybody have this experience?
Anybody with advice or information on how I might get past this message so I can download applications?
Thank you.

To start with the basics, you are on a wireless network? The iTunes store does not work on the 3G network.

Thank you, I didn't realize that iTunes was not available on the 3G network.
I was on a wireless network when it was asking me for my iTunes password. I am not on a wireless network now and getting the "cannot connect" message.
Presumably I will be able to connect to the iTunes store when I'm on a wireless network? I still need to figure out what my "iTunes password" is. My Apple password did not work.
Any clues on this part?

When you use iTunes on your mac or PC, you will create an account for iTunes in there when you click on iTunes store link on the left side of the window.

I got onto a wireless network and I tried to access the iTunes store but my new phone keeps telling me that my password is wrong. I have tried putting in both the email address that is my "Apple ID" and the password that gets me into my iTunes account as entries for what the iPhone is asking me for (which it calls my iTunes ID). Neither has worked and I still can't get into iTunes or download applications from my iPhone. Please help.

It should be your password not the ID. Best bet is to call Apple support. They are great and will walk you through exactly what to do. You can reach them here.
