Is there any way to silence the 4s without using the buttons on the side?

Guess you could just drop the volume all the way down with the side buttons, but why would you not just use the mute slider on the side?

I'm a quadriplegic and have limited use of my fingers. I can use the buttons on the touch screen but the ones on the side are very difficult for me to change. Thanks for responsing. Do you have any other suggestions?
