DirecTV, Cablevision, and Time Warner, Cox Communications all offer a free iPad Apps that allow TV streaming for iPad customers at home. So when I downloaded the ATT app to my ipad, what is there? An app that has its cojones cut off if want to view programming on your ipad. You CAN do it on an iphone but not the ipad. The old arguement was that there were issues between the cable companies and the programming teams at the networks....BUT, it seem that almost all the other MAJOR cable companies have cracked that nut.
Where is ATT? Why arn't they leading instead of following in this arena? Uverse is a terrific product, why not make it an even better experience by not emasculating the ipad app?
Unbelievable, ATT. Disappointing and really, really unbelievable.
P.S. just read the customer reviews in the App store, and , ATT, you should be ashamed of yourself. Some of the poorest reviews I've read on any app.

I don't know about the other companies, but you can download or stream programs, just not FROM your DVR recordings.
.
Another customer made a similar comment, but said they cannot even do the above.
Can you watch programming via the WRA?
http://uversetv.att.yahoo.com/wra/uverse/
or
Online?

You may already know, Premiums (HBO, Showtime, etc.) can be watched from their own Apps as well, provided you are already subscribed via Uverse

I appreciate your response. Please note that the millions of ipads can not run FLASH so the link you provided does not work
http://uverseonline.att.net/tv.
The bottom line is that ATT has dumbed down the application's capabilities if it is run on an iPad, which, by all acounts, is the most innovative computing device of the last 10 years and millions are being sold each fiscal quarter.
I believe that ATT was looking to see how to monitize delivery onto to the iPad given its massive up-side potential as a delivery device. But the other carriers have chosen to embrace this innovative technology and make video delivery through it a competitive advantage.
Honestly, if ATT continues to refuse this service to its millions of customers, well, it speaks to their desire to be a the rear rather than the forefront of innovation.
My contract with ATT Uverse ends in April of 2012 at which time I will evaluate my options and, if ATT is still stuck in the past, then I will head to another provider.

AT&T pulled their U-verse Mobile iPad app from the app store quite a while back. I checked a day or so ago, and they still didn't have the iPad app available - are you referring to the iPhone app?
Also, you're quite right about AT&T not allowing streaming to the iPad, and those shows available for the iPhone are actually quite limited in number currently. I have found that if you subscribe to any of the premium channels such as HBO, Cinemax, etc - there are iPad apps available (HBO GO, MAX GO, etc) that will allow you to watch those shows anywhere.

I, too, am ready to quit ATT over this. I changedmy Comcast to UVerse after my assistant showed me the new iPad app. Finally, for a variety of reasons, I decided to switch. I am so disappointed in the lack of an iPad app that works as a remote, lists the shows, etc., like my Infinity app.
My sales person really missed the mark on the Internet speed, too, because the Elite speed (I think that's what it was called) was sold as more than adequate for basic downloading, surfing, etc., but was WAY TOO SLOW, like 2-3 minutes to load a page. I finally got that upgraded but between that upgrade, the HD surcharge and other misc charges, my savings switching from Comcast have pretty much evaporated.
And no iPad app - URRRRGGGHHHHHH! I cannot believe ATT would miss this huge issue and not get on it ASAP!!!!

8 months later than the last post, and the app is still worthless. so is the website.
Can't watch a SINGLE show on my iDevices??? This is unacceptable.
All the app does is turn my iDevice into a glorified remote; as crappy as the supplied remote is, it still works fine, no need to waste computer CPU cycles or additional electricity on changing the channel or setting up a recording, when I can just pick the stupid remote up and hit a button (gotta make sure the little plant isn't in the way, somehow the leaves absorb those pesky IR transmissions).
Epic fail, AT&T. Again.

My wife has an IPad and we use the app. I have it programmed to control two of my STBs and I also use the app to watch videos that are available. I rarely use the remote control feature, unless I am messing with my wife and daughterr when they are watching tv. But I like the way the app functions at this time and I look forward to ATT adding more features to it. Not everything works the way we want them right out of the box. But eventually they improve.

The NUMBER ONE reason why I cancelled my 18 year relationship with COX, was for the Mobile app. I have the U200 package, and have confirmed with support that I have Mobile Access set up....
BUT the APP does not load--- ever.
Please help. I have deleted the app, reloaded it, fully exited, etc...... ONE time it let me in, but was blank when I got in.. Never let me in again....... I knwo there are growing pains, and many moving parts, but if the NUMBER ONE reason why I came over does not work reliably.. I will go back.
