I keep getting this message while logging: "U-verse Sign In is unavailable right now, Please try your request later." I've tried throughout the entire day, to no avail.
It's my first time using the app.

Mine is working fine on iPhone.
There was an update pushed out around the 12th of last month; are you running that latest version?
Have you tried (the usual) to delete the app, then re-install it?

I just checked mine again, downloading, streaming, watching is all working, but I'm already logged in.

OK, I just logged out, closed the App; then opened again and was able to log in with no problem.
Something must not be right with your account? Y
ou say it's your first time using the App, are you a new customer? edit--I see you're not new, so scratch that idea...
Send a PM to Alex and see if he can find out what's going on with your account.

I think I've narrowed down the problem. I was able to log on with my school wifi but not at home. When I tested again at home just right now, the program logged on, but when I select "watch on iPad," the video doesn't load. Nor does the TV guide. So I think there is a problem with my router not opening the right ports. I have the router that came with AT&T U-verse DSL, the Motorola NVG510.
Which ports do I have to open?

I don't know if anyone has told you to do this. If not, then unplug the ac cable from the RG for 30 seconds and then reconnect it. After it reboots try connecting to the wifi This has resolved a lot of unknown issues in the past.

You can access the Internet and any other sites/apps, just not the UV Mobile one?
Have you tried MAC filtering on the Wireless page?
04-13-2012 06:46:13 PM
It's for input of wireless devices' MAC address, 12 characters with * : * in between every 2 (xx:XX: Xx:xX:xx:Xx). You can look under Settings > General > About > Wi-Fi Address (on the iPad).
With that identifier, you can open the MAC Filtering page and add it to the list of Allowed Wi-Fi devices on your home Network. It should be on the Wireless tab. I don't have your model of RG, so pasting a page link won't help.
Let us know if the RG reset re-discovers the iPad properly.

It's only this darn app that doesn't work.

I can open the app on both my iPad/iPhone but do to the fact I only have U200 pkg it will be very limited without bumping my subscription so what UVpakage does the OP have ?
04-14-2012 06:24:34 AM
I have U200 as well.
Then you may have to call AT&T to add the subscription because its not free at that tier.

Here are some other thoughts--
Have you changed your Network SSID to something personal? A lot of 2WIRExxx's out there.
Is your Network ID hidden (if so, unhide it).
In the RG (router), do you have a channel picked, NOT set to Auto?
For SECURITY--AUTHENTICATION TYPE, are you using WPA2?
Do you have WI-FI PROTECTED SET-UP turned off (Disabled)?
You are trying to connect directly through to UV RG, not another router attached to the UV RG?
(We use Air Port Extreme here.)

I also use an AEBS an can access the app but it does prompt with do you want to subscribe which indicates a fee or tier upgrade from U200 correct me if I am wrong.
04-15-2012 03:37:07 PM
I've never seen that, but I have U450.
The only time I had problems using an i-App was with HBOGo because it required iOS5, and I was stuck with no upgrade option on the old Touch.
But he can access the UV Mobile app away from home, so it has to be something in the RG to iPad settings?
IIRC, you get 5 (?) tries at logging in with your password, and then you're locked out for 24 hours (or do a password reset online).

I guess I thought it was this app with a monthly fee. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/at-t-u-verse-live-t

OK, can you try another test? Change it to WEP and see if you can get it to work?
I have read about a lot of problems with that model router. My wi-fi was so flakey here, that's how I ended up another router behind the UV RG. I could connect at hotspots away from home, but not at home.

Network ID is personal and is not hidden. Router set to channel 4. Using WPA. There is no option for WPA2. Wifi protected setup is disabled. There is no intermediate device. I am directly connected to the NVG. The NVG510 has been full of problems. I think I should use it in bridge mode, and use another router.
Are you sure you do not have the option of WPA-PSK (AES) which is WPA2
WPA-PSK (TKIP) is WPA ?
Almost all Apple wi-fi devices work better with WPA2.

WEP doesn't work, unfortunately.
Ironic how an AT&T-provided router doesn't work with their own services. Whoever authorized this horrible piece of hardware should be fired.

I set up an IPad to work with the Free Uverse app yesterday. I had to go to channel 9301 to set up the stb to see the IPad. After I did that the stb saw that the IPad was connected and I completed the setup instructions in the app. The IPad logged into the app, and was even able to control the stb. I guess we are talking about the same free Uverse app.

There is technically one for the iPad it will be a screen with a remote angled in front of it
and so far it works great but there are several for the iPhone with one being a subcription service. If it does not occupy the entire screen the it is a mobile app.
