U-verse Mobile app for iPad - now gone?

The iPad specific U-verse Mobile app is now missing from the App Store. Inquiries on the U-verse Facebook page have only been responded with "We'll look into it." Does anyone know what happened to this app? Yes, the iPhone app is still there but doesn't look very good on the iPad. Strange that the iPad app would be removed, but leave the iPhone app???

I just tried my app for the iPad, it's working. I had a hard time finding it, not at the apple store. I did a google search on the web found it then downloaded it.
My problem is I was getting HBO GO for a while now I cannot log in, it keeps telling me that I am not a subscriber to HBO with Uverse, not rue, been a HBO watcher for 20 plus years.

Nio idea sadly.  I raised this with ATT and they seem pretty clueless about what happened to it.  I signed up for ATT last month and this app was one of the selling points.  Now I'm a paid up ATT subscriber it's suddenly vaporised and nobody seems to the have slightest idea what I'm talking about when I ask about the IPAD version of the app.  Very strange.

After some Google searching I found that it's available to download here:

However, I'm not jailbroken and wonder if there's a way to install it otherwise?

The iPad version of the U-verse Mobile App is currently unavailable on iTunes in preparation for introducing an enhanced version of the application. We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope to have the new version back in the iTunes Store soon.

How did you get this info?  And why couldn't they just leave the old version on the App Store until the new version is ready?  That's what app developers usually do.

Hey rambler - zamora is right, we are prepping a brand spanking new version of the app. Off the top of my head, I couldn't tell you why the old version was removed but I'll see what I can find out.

Any chance could AT&T could put the older iPad app back on the App Store?  I guess there's no telling when the new version might be ready?  I use the app a lot, and the iPhone version on my iPad just isn't cutting it.

Right now, I'm not aware of any plans to reinstated the old app. I've asked for an update on the new app and will let you guys know if there is any news to share.

I had to call tech support, and while on hold the recording indicated there was a U-verse Mobile tablet app that allowed remote control of the DVR.  Unfortunately, I forgot to ask the tech about it during my call.  It's not available in the App Store yet, but since they're talking about it in the recordings, hopefully it should be available soon.  I just wish they hadn't removed the previous version from the App Store first.

Any update on the U-verse Mobile iPad app?  It looks like the term "coming soon" means a couple months or more.  With no plans to reinstate the previous iPad app, and no telling when the updated version will be available, I'm really getting irked about U-verse TV right now.  All the other major TV service providers have these apps that work great.  That and the fact my TV service and DVR continue to have issues, is causing to me to think about dropping U-verse TV and going elsewhere.  The lack of an iPad app is about to push me in that direction.

There is no U-verse mobile app for the iPad in the iTunes App store.  The app for the iPhone can be downloaded and run on the iPad, but it does not look or work like the app advertised on the AT&T U-verse support web site in the U-Verse Mobile for iPad User Guide:

I want the app shown in the User Guide, or I want AT&T to remove that information from their web site, since it is falsely advertising functionality that does not exist / is not avaiable.

I wasted nearly two hours on the phone (mostly on hold waiting) to various people at AT&T U-verse support and AT&T wireless support, none of which could solve this issue or even seemed to understand.  

Brenda {personal content removed for safety} at AT&T wireless support actually transferred me to Apple support!!

Does anyone at AT&T understand that they are advertising an app that doesn't exist??  Does anyone have any idea if or when it will exist??

There was a version that was recently taken off.. I believe it's version 2.4 for the ipad... Unfortunately developers do that to fix their programs if there are too many issues. I know that I have to restart the program a lot due to freezing issues... in other words, they haven't worked out all of the bugs. The only reason that I found out it was gone is that my wife wanted it on her ipad and we couldn't find It... I will let you know if I figure out how to get it to her, but as of now I can't ... sorry... I guess we will have to wait for att to squash the bugs

I found the app in a folder and installed it by emailing it to myself and opening it in windows... not sure if it will work the same way for you. One caveat is though it's free it has my name in the file info which means it may not work on your system, but I'd be happy to email it to you if you ask. It only works on the iPad but you may have to restart from time to time as it does freeze. My email is {personal content removed for safety}

I transferred U-verse mobile from my iPhone to my iPad. It works the same as on the phone. EDIT: In looking closer at the App on my iPad, the only difference is that there is no "Watch" button to download and watch TV shows.

It works the same because it's the same app. The iPad app we're referring to is just that - made for the iPad, and is not the same as the iPhone app.

I have had the iPad specific version on my iPad2 for quite a while (mine ipad ap is version 2.2 build 3063).  I did notice it went away for a while in the app store.  Today I opened the app store on my ipad and it showed I had an update for my uverse ipad specifc app that was just released today, it is an update to version 2.4.1 states it contains bug fixes, however it will not let me update.  Everytime I try it just keeps saying it is no longer available, yet it keeps coming back up on my available updates notifier.   Perhaps its about to be re-released soon.

I kept trying on the iPad and it finally updated.  Alows on demand on the iPad now!

An update to UVerse for iPad app is showing up as an available on my iPad. It's version 2.4.1 and the only update listed is the disappointingly limited "bug fixes."

Was hoping for some new features.

Though, if I try to update to it, I get an error that the app is no longer available.

Also allows you to controll your receivers from a remote app on the Uverse iPad App.  Seems buggy but am currently playing with it!

I just downloaded it, too.   Am not at home, so I could not use as a remote control, but VOD content is better that what it was on the iPhone.  Has Premium Movies from Starz and Encore (I subscribe to those channels).  Can't wait to get home and play with it some more.

I finally was able to update and get the new version.  I did notice the new On Demand stuff.  I have Stars and Encore and they are showing up in the On Demand for me.  As far as Other Networks available through the On Demand portion are A&E, adult swim, Cartoon Network, History, Movieplex, TBS, TNT, and truTV. 

I'm still at work so, I haven't explored the remote aspects yet.

Does the remote feature only work with wireless DVR/recvrs? I cannot connect to my recvr from the app, and the error indicates that I am "not on U-verse Wireless Network".

You don't need a wireless DVR, but you do need some form of WIFI (AT&T Gateway, etc.)
