Delivery Notification for Blackberry Curve

Is there a way to stop sending Delivery Receipts even if the person sending the email has requested a receipt through Outlook? I have the Email Settings on my blackberry for CONFIRM DELIVERY, CONFIRM READ, and SEND READ RECEIPTS set to NO, but the Blackberry still sends Delivery Receipts to myself and to others if the person sending the email has requested a receipt through their Outlook.

Go to the mail folder, hit the menu button, scroll down to the options, select EMAIL SETTINGS and turn off confirm delivery and confirm read... that should solve your problem.

I've got the same issue. I'm recieving Delivery notifications in Outlook even though my device has 'No' for all three options...

Thanks for the response. I have the Confirm Delivery, Confirm Read, and Send Read Receipts settings set to NO for all emails that are setup on my Blackberry, but for some reason it is still sending a delivery receipt. Is there another setting somewhere that I need to adjust?

Have you tried resetting it by taking the battery out for about 30 secs or longer??

Did you ever get a resolution to this? I have a BB 8700 (ex Cingular) and never had this problem until the AT&T acquisition. All delivery receipts and notification sending disabled but I get the same behaviour

No, I'm sorry. I don't have a resolution to this problem yet. I'm still receiving delivery receipts from my Blackberry no matter what I do.

Hello all. I have a BlackBerry contact (an individual who actually works FOR BlackBerry) who should be able to tell us how to alleviate this problem. Like all of you, I have my settings under OPTIONS / EMAIL SETTINGS / CONFIRM DELIVERY-no CONFIRM READ-no SEND READ RECEIPTS-no - and I am still getting the Delivery Receipts. Obviously setting the "Confirm Delivery" to NO does not work. I will post once I hear back from the BlackBerry Rep.

I look forward to hearing the BB rep response. The latest that I've found out through trawling various forums is that this is a feature in the latest version of the BIS software as implemented at AT&T (BIS v2.4). This means that if someone has enabled this (which is now default on new BB devices with device software v4.2) you don't have a way of disabling this.

I've posted about this on a few forums and haven't been able to get a definitive answer, so I'm eagerly awaiting any info you might share!

I have 2 e-mail address integrated via BIS. A person with Outlook is requesting a delivery confirmation from my "public" e-mail address, and my BB is sending back 2 receipts -- one from my "public" address, and another from my "private" address. This person didn't even know about my "private" address and never sent mail to it.

Why is BIS automatically replying with delivery receipts from both of my integrated e-mail accounts, even though the person I'm corresponding with is only using one of them??? BIS just sends out a delivery receipt for both integrated e-mail accounts every time it gets a request from either one of them. I don't mind if he requests a delivery receipt, but BIS should only send one for the account he's sending the request to.

To my knowledge, I can't control this BIS functionality from my BB.

It is your device sending the receipts, not BIS.

True. But they aren't the kind of receipts you can control from the device. I think the real issue is that receipts are always sent from both accounts, even though I'm only corresponding via one of them. Anyway, here are my settings:

Message Services:

1. I'm assuming "Confirm Delivery" determines whether or not I want to confirm that my message has been delivered to another party.
2. I'm assuming "Confirm Read" determines whether or not I want to confirm that my message has been delivered to another party.
3. I'm assuming "Send Read Receipts" determines whether or not I want to allow my BB to send confirmation to another party that I've read a message.

I don't see any option allowing me to determine whether or not I want to allow my BB to send confirmation to another party that their message has been delivered to it (not necessarily read).

It would seem that since you have both email addresses on your device, and all messages no matter what kind, go into your messages folder, for some unknown reason your device is sending receipts for both accounts. I know that was a run on sentence, but I didn't feel like fixing it.

Have you tried a battery pull, and maybe resending your service books from BIS? My device did this but not after I did the two things I just mentioned.

I've tried those separately at one point or another, but not together... doing so now. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if this fixes my issue (the e-mail recipient who's requesting delivery receipts is probably asleep).

This seems to have worked! Would you mind educating me a bit on why? I'd like to understand the problem a little better if at all possible.

I think when you pull the battery, it enables the stars, planets, and other galaxies to perfectly align in relation to each other and places a pause in the time space continuum.

Seriously though, I'm not sure. It's like restarting your computer when it starts to get sluggish. I've learned from several forums and long time users that a battery pull can work wonders.

When you use the BlackBerry Gmail service to send messages from your BlackBerry device to another, they are stored in the Gmail Inbox as a conversation. They appear as new messages in the GMail Inbox.

But as the BlackBerry Technical Knowledge Center explains in a just-posted (and frankly a bit confusing) document entitled "Filter Messages sent from an integrated Gmail account," (link below) there's a way for you to create a filter that will prevent you from sending messages to or from a Gmail account on a BlackBerry device.

The document (which you can get to by clicking the Read prompt below this post) lists an eight-step procedure:

Log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service account.
Click filters beside the integrated Gmail account.
Click add filter.
Name the filter.
Click the drop-down menu beside apply filter when: and select the from field.
In the contains field, type the Gmail email account.
Select do not forward messages to handheld.
Click add filter.

Hey guys, I was super annoyed by this notification issue as well. What worked for me on my 8320;

When you are in your email inbox be sure a message in your message list is highlighted then hit your menu button, scroll to options, email options and check to see all is optioned to NO.
