Got an email from RIM that there was a new software version for my BlackBerry. I went to http://www.blackberry.com/update and did the upgrade. I haven't noticed a difference so far.
Version # is v4.6.0.167 (Platform 4.0.0.217)
What's new in this new version?

I'd like to know this too.
Hopefull it addresses the constant switching from 2g to 3g all of the time, and the poor battery life that I get.

There is no list of the actual bug fixes/updates that I can find. But here is what I experienced so far.
Before update my Bold would crash when using Stereo Bluetooth with media player, and when using AT&T Navigator for prolonged periods
After Update: I have been running more than 24 hours with no crashes!
Faster response and load times (hardly ever get the annoying BB loading icon)
Better signal
I am not sure about the 3G/2G switch because this has never been a problem for me.

Odd, I have received no such email from RIM, I have owned this Bold since December of 08 and have had no updates offered. Device came with .167 - I can find no such software update on the RIM site either. The desktop manager can find no such update as well - do yo have a link?
Here's the link:

I did not have to reinstall anything. Desktop manager backed up my phone.
I forgot to mention the web browser loads faster now compared to an un-upgraded bold at the at&t store.

Thanks, I found it right after my post. Installed and now will see if there is much difference. First thing I noticed; there is more application memory than previous. We'll see about the memory leak, which was pretty severe on my device. After a battery pull, it would start out at 18mb and within 6 hours be down to 8mb. I got into the habbit of doing a battery pull every morning. After this update it started out at 28mb - a good sign.
Update went smoothly.
