I am not able to get communication established between my Panasonic DMP-BD65P-K blu-ray player and the At&T 7550 modem-router. My connection is wired and I desire to connect to Viera Cast through the blu-ray player. I have done ipconfig on my computer and eventually found a way to get the At&t "connection information" data page from the Internet. The primary problem appears to be finding an open port for the Panasonic device to connect to the LAN ethernet device. I have the IP address for this device and must do port forwarding to find an open port, I believe.

Hi,
If you have your connection wired than you should be able to see your blu-ray player from your modem's GUI. To log into your modem's GUI type the following into your address bar: 192.168.1.254. You should be able to see all of the devices you have connected to your modem/router. If you cannot see your blu-ray player there may be something that needs to be changes on it through it's setup. Please let me know if your modem/router can see your blu-ray player through the modem's GUI. Then I will try and assist you.
Thank you,
JustinF

Hi:
Thank you for your reply. Before receiving your response, I went into the GUI of my modem to port forward three ports. The modem has never recognized the blu-ray player, therefore, port forwarding was not possible. Prior to that endeavor I attempted to configure the modem with the player, automatically first and then manually without success. Now I am having the player evaluated. It worked fine with my previous modem that recently failed.
I have been told that Netgear modem/routers are not compatible with Panasonic equipment. Various internet forums are replete with information to suggest just that.
Sincerely,
