I have the ATT 2 wire (3860? a newer one) modem and have been inside the setup. I have seen the DMZ that I can use with my d-link dir-655. What I want to know is if I DMZ to the D link, can the 2 computers connected to the ATT 2 wire router communicate with the other computes and devices connected wirelessly to the Dlink router and vice versa?

No, you will have to setup the Dlink as an access point or extender for the 2WIRE.
