I have an ubuntu server running on my 2wire lan. Local access and internet access out work fine. What do I need to be able to do to access the server from outside my lan?

Hi,
I would suggest port forwarding through the 2Wire firewall to make sure it's accessible outside your network. Or just put that server into DMZ mode. You also have to consider that when you try and connect to it from outside your network that you are looking for your public IP not the private IP, If you have dynamic service this IP will occasionally change. I hope this helps, please let me know if you need more information.
Thank you,
JustinF

Hi,
Normally the url for access to your server is going to be your global IP address followed by the port number you have setup to get through the firewall.
Thank you,
