AT&D has disabled the opening of ports to my dsl connection

I have wasted so much time configureinf all of my ports just to open up port 25565, the minecraft port, and have gone to the extent of opening my entire router to the internet, which would not matter anyway. Due to the fact that none of the ports i am opening are even considered open, except to other computers on my network , which clearly means that either the connection between my modem and router is messed up, or the connection itself is. i was told to contact my isp, and was not willing to waste time waiting 4 hours for a response. I need all the help i can get, thanks.

*i mean router to dsl* its hard to think when extreamly hacked off.
