I have a 4G usbconnect Momentum modem connected to a Zoom mobile broadband router. I want to access an IP camera remotely from the internet. Can connect internally with no issues but can't get access externally. Any suggestions to resolve this?

Sorry to hear you are having this problem. These are the basic steps.
1. Set the camera with static IP Address and Port number between 1024 and 65534
2. In the router, port forward that port to the camera static ip address http://portforward.com/routers.htm
3. Obtain your public IP address http://www.whatismyip.com/
4. Use the public IP address with the port in browser to access camera from internet. Example: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1024
Note: Unless your public IP address is static, you may want to setup a dynamic DNS account which will allow your public address to change and not effect your access to the camera(s). In this case you would use the web address and port number instead of the IP address and port number. Perform a search for dynamic DNS to learn more.

Thank you for your reply. We have tried all that you have suggested. In talking to AT&T, we have to have a static public IP address for our mobile broadband modem and to have a static address requires a business account and possible set up fees and monthly charges.

I was on the phone with ConnecTech but didn't get a straight answer on what I need to do to unblock my inbound ports so I could reach my IP camera from the internet. They wanted to charge me $50 to talk with someone who could answer my questions. Just need a straight answer....can I or can't I access my IP camera from the internet with my residential account DSL? So, I guess the only way to setup a security camera system in to buy a business account.....no way around it?

We did not find a way around it. We tried a Verizon connection and it worked. Therefore, the problem is AT&T. We terminated the service with AT&T and went with Verizon.

It checked with Verizon but it's not offered in my area. So.....I paid Connectech $50 for them to spend 7 hours trying to get my router and IP camera to work from the internet. Bottom line I was told I need to get a different router than the Netgear 7550 that I just bought from AT&T back in May 2012. Seems the router does not work properly with a IP camera using wifi. If you wire it to the router it will recognize the camera sometimes.
