New PC no internet connection after installing Netgear wireless

I setup a new PC with no built in wireless device. I did install the Netgear Wireless....but I cannot connect to internet. I keep getting a message "acquiring address"?

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your issue. Are other computers able to connect wirelessly? If other computers can connect, the issue is with the new wireless adapter. If its your router try disconnecting power and reconnecting power. If it appears to be your computer try these steps:
- Remove the network security settings. Go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center (may require to click Network and Internet first if View by: Category selected). Click Manage wireless networks, right click the wireless network and remove network. Use back button on top left to return to Network and Sharing Center and click on link Connect to a network. Input Security key & connect.
- Uninstall and reinstall the wireless network card.
- Ensure that the wireless router is close enough to the computer.
