I've got a Cisco Linksys E2000 connected to my Uverse Residential Gateway (RG), not using WAN port, just local 4-port 10/100/1000 ports, so all one flat layer 2 network. I do this so I can get wireless N as opposed to just Wireless G, and have wireless disabled on the RG.
I've had this setup for 4 years, yet a tech reset (factory settings) my RG yesterday when trying to get a set-top receiver working, and now I'm seeing a flood of Multicast traffic sent to my Cisco Linksys E2000 device, no matter which port I send it to.
All of my set-top boxes are connected to the Coax, and I don't have any wireless receivers. But with the Multicast traffic flooding my Linksys device, the Wireless N network is saturated an no longer usable.
Any thoughts on how I can keep the RG from sending the multicast packets to my Linksys switch?
Thanks,
Bill
