internet connection problems

I have a new windows 7 desk top computer for about a year and I have a 2wire modem that i am plugged into with a ethernet wire. My computer does have a built in wireless card too. I also have a desk top that has a linksys wireless usb in the other room. Neither computer gets all the connection bars, were lucky if we get 3. The xp desktop gets booted all the time. Would it be better to have my on the wireless instead of plugged in and could our at&t modem be the problem??

Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having this problem. Check your Power Setting in the 2wire router. Located in Home Network > Wireless Settings > Power Setting. Change to 10. If this does not describe your router, please provide the model number. Have a computer plugged in directly should not impact the wireless computer. Let me know if this helps.

hello i got a new desk top and it has no internet services and I am having so much trouble , trouble shooting it im getting frustrated can you please tell me how I can connect to this new desk top / or can someone contact me and help me by via remote access

Sorry about your problem. Please provide more information.
- Router model
- Do other computers connect to the internet?
- Version of Windows
- What issues specifically are you encountering when trying to connect?
- Are you using wireless or connected with Ethernet?
- What have you tried?
