I have DSL internet on my desk top computer and just got a IPAD2 . What do I need to do to get wireless. My service says I have wireless. Do I need to get a wireless modem or some kind of adapter?

You need to know the name of your Wireless Network, and it has to be ENABLED in the DSL router. I no longer have DSL, so I can't tell you exactly where it is, but type 192.168.1.254 into your browser, and look for Wireless.
Take a look on the side of your DSL router for a sticker that shows 2Wire and three numbers (example 2Wire467). That is your default Network name.
There should be an option in SETTINGS on the iPad, look for Wi-Fi, turn it on. Wait for Wi-Fi networks to pop up, look for your 2Wire device. Select it, and use your password (wireless key on sticker on side of DSL router).
When you're away from home, you can use free Wi-Fi, and places like Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, McDonalds use ATT, so you'll look for attwifi, and no password should be needed.

What is the manufacturer and model number of the modem/router you are currently using?
