I recently switched from old DSL(6m) to new Uverse DSL(12m).
I attempted a self-install, unfortunately the modem was bad and a service man replaced it and all was well.
Occasionally I would drop a connection but all in all it was good.
Recently however I've been having major problems with my connection dropping.
Last night I tried to watch a movie from Netflix and maybe 5 minutes into it I get a Netflix screen saying the connection is down.
This same behavior happened a few days to a week back also.
I look at the NVG510 lights and sure enough it's dropped.
After the obligatory resets, power cycles and stupid connection problem screens from the modem, it comes back.
So I call tech support, they run a diag, all looks good.
It works for about 15 minutes then boom, back to the dropped connection problem.
Second call says they are going to send me a new modem and drop my speed back to 6m.
It's worked for about a month previously without issues so I'm scratching my head as to why now?.
This morning I have the password login problem.
I finally get a temporary password and login.
I go to change it, AT&T is enhancing my experience, site it down!
Ready to throw the computer against the wall at this point!!!
The big question is if the reason for my connection problems is because of upgrades and maintenence, do I need to go down to 6m or is it just a misdiagnosed problem?
Wow, what a pain, I just want it to work like a did a month ago!
Thanks for listening

I would insist they relace the NVG510 with an alternate manufacturer/model modem as the NVG510 is known for being a buggy unit.

They are sending me another NVG510
.
I do like the speed increase and I want to make sure that slowing it back down because of bandwidth issues is the real reason for the problem.
Thanks
