I own a 2wire 2701HG-B router, and have 1 desktop, 1 laptop, a PS3, and an iPod touch connected to the network (all wireless). I have lived in this house for about 4 years, and have had this same network configuration and these same computers the entire time (the iPod I got about 2 years ago). I've had good network speed until about 2-3 weeks ago. There is constant network fluctuation. I get on a PC game and my network speed constantly changes from ~40ms to ~700ms. Ill log on sometimes and it's green and I can play, then, within a matter of minutes it's red, then green again. Idk what to do. This is extremely frustrating and didn't happen until recently. No network settings were changed to create this problem, and the router/modem haven't changed positions. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Nigelah-
Check your speed in the morning(7 AM - 9 AM) versus the late afternoon/evening. I have a similar set up to you and have noted a significant decline in my speed during peak times, my download fluctuates between .7 - .4 mbps but in the mornings I'm measuring between 4 - 5.5 mbps. It's suppose to be 2 mbps min.
I've started logging the days and times of my speed tests and will present it to at&t in the next few days.
I'll let you know if I find a solution.
