I inherited a Motorola NVG510 modem recently from a uverse customer who fled to Comcast. I have a standard DSL account with ATT. When I hook up the modem it syncs to the ADSL signal but doesn't access the network. There is no option to change the username or password to match my account on the user accessible pages of the modem. The modem will not accept a telnet conection on the standard port 23 although port 21 seems to connect temporarily. Basically there appears no way for me to modify the modem settings to work on my line and ATT wants to charge me $49 to change the settings themselves. This is ridiculous. Does anybody know how to make a telnet connection to the modem and/or to customize it for a different customer?
