Mac Book Pro slower internet speeds are much slower than other devices in my home

I am not computer person by any means, but my new Mac Book Pro is experiencing much slower download speeds than my older slower processing PCs. Is there a fix for this amoung my ATT wireless internet setting? The ATT tech is baffled.

I have the same problem with my macbook. It's horrible. I pay for 18MBS, and get maybe 2. Over wireless. Using my ipad on the same network, it is where it should be. Looks like there would be more info available on this. I'm going to have to switch back to Time Warner if someone doesn't get off the pot.

Try changing your wireless channel on your router. Go to network preferences-advanced-router address to find your address then enter it into your address field of your browser which will give you access to your router.

Next go to wireless-network and change the wireless channel (mine was on 6 and I switched it to 8) you may need to enter your router password (on router in my case)

this brought my speed back up to acceptable levels.
