I have the motorola silver 2210 modem. I use a linksys wireless router. I also have my xbox connected to the router (through an ethernet cord) Everything worked fine with no issues from May until September. In September the internet light on the modem started turning red periodically. Whenever it turned red I wouldn't be able to surf the net and I would get booted offline if I was playing xbox. I would then have to either wait a few minutes for it to turn green or I would have to unplug the modem and plug it back in. This worked for a couple of weeks until finally the light stayed red and a tech came out. He couldn't determine what the issue was so he gave me a new modem (same brand/type). The new one worked fine for 2 weeks, now the red light is coming back on and I'm getting booted off and cant connect (to the internet or on xbox) unless I wait 2-3 minutes or unplug the modem. This happens a couple of times throughout a span of 3 or 4 hours. I have no idea what the issue is. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

the internet light on the modem is the one that blinks red and not the DSL light, correct?
what happens when you try to connect your computer or xbox directly via ethernet to the modem? are you able to surf the internet? if yes, it's a possible PPPoE conflict between your modem and router. i suggest that you try bridging the modem and make sure that the router is setup thru PPPoE.

I think that's the problem akee. After reading the board a little, I searched the net and found a link on how to bridge the modem. http://www.dslreports.com/faq/15855 I followed these steps and now everything seems to be working fine. Thanks for your feedback.
