Aircard not working Vista. "sufficient privileges" error

I am running Vista Business 32-bit with an internal Cingular 5520 Aircard. The connection manager comes up, I get a signal indicator, and click CONNECT. I get the following error:

You don't have sufficient privileges to connect to the network.

I have admin rights to my laptop. What's even more strange is that I can use the SMS service in the connection manager to send text messages.

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong?

Sounds like the OP is trying to connect to a Domain.  AT&T requires no provleges other than having an active service.  Could it also be the OP trying to auto launch into a VPN connection?

do you have mcafee virusscan installed? i had this same problem and it was being caused by access control. you need to allow phoenix.exe and dmbcu.exe access to stored password files in access protection or turn it off completely. hope this helps!

AT&T doesn't make/sell a Cingular 5520.  I assume that this is a Dell Latitude D series with an integrated Wireless 5520 Cingular Mobile Broadband (3G HSDPA) MiniCard manufactured by Novatel.  If that's the case you will want to use the Dell Mobile Broadband Connect Utility (DMBCU) that came with the computer.  The BMBCU has seen many updates since its release.  I would sugguest downloading from Dell's support site.  Also, what are you trying to do when you receive this error message?
