Really? Because it works just fine for me with the "MEdia Net" plan.

Then lets hope you dont get caught doing what you are doing, not only are you breakinkg the terms and conditions of ATTM service but also taking the chance of a very higher per KB charge when caught, i have personally seen a charge as small as $2.05/kb and as high as $8.19/kb.

1) The TOS clearly states "Accordingly, service is only provided for prescribed purposes and pricing for Data Services is device dependent and based on the transmit and receive capacity of each device. A pricing plan designated for one type of device may not be used with another device. Some devices or plans may require you to subscribe to both a voice and a data plan. If AT&T determines that you are not subscribed to the required plan(s), AT&T reserves the right to switch you to the required plan or plans and bill you the appropriate monthly fee." Thus the "worst" that can happen is you would be switched to the correct plan
2) AT&T really has no way to tell where the data comes from.

Yes they can charge you the pay per use rates for previous cycles and then also add the proper data plan, and yes they can tell how much data is being used and how it is being used as well.
Cheating the system is 1 thing, but cheating the system and announcing it on a company owned forum is another thing altogether.

Please be aware that using your device as a wireless router without an eligible tethering plan violates the Wireless Data Plan Service Terms and Conditions. Plans (unless specifically designated for tethering usage) cannot be used for any applications that tether the device (through use of, including without limitation, connection kits, other phone/PDA-to computer accessories, BLUETOOTH® or any other wireless technology) to Personal Computers (including without limitation, laptops), or other equipment for any purpose.
Additionally, please keep it relevant and appropriate. These Forums are specifically provided to allow users and customers of AT&T to help each other in using wireless products and services from AT&T. Inappropriate and unacceptable behavior on the forums includes discussions about how to violate any AT&T policy or agreement entered into with AT&T for any product or service.
This topic has been thoroughly discussed and is now being closed. Should the OP need additional assistance, please feel free to open up a new thread. Thank you.
