Grandfathered Unlimited Data Plan iPhones..will we ever be able to tether (hotspot)

Considering how loyal I ve been to ATT i would think they would break down and grant us tethering using our iphones even though we are on the unlimted plan.

If it gets to be to too much for ATT system they could throttle back data.

not sure Im following correctly, but u can't still get the unlimited data at all anymore can u??! at least that's what they told me at AT&T store. no matter how persistent I was, they just said it was no longer available. I tried getting around it since I've had the same account with them for just shy of 12 years now, and that I get it not being available to new customers but even though the data was for an extra line (separate line)on my 12 yr old account it technically wasn't "a new customer" because of the12 years. anyways, if it is still avaliable and u know what I gotta do to get it. I would greatly appreciate it!! please and thanks either way.

Unl data came with those who bought First iPhone. AT&T eliminated UD later on but grandfathered those of us who have it.
To tether, I would have to get another data plan. Losing the UD plan, something I am considering.

Data is a feature assigned to the individual line, not the account.  You may not be a new customer but it is a new phone line and would not be able to get unlimited data.
