I have a corporate discount through my place of employment. The discount is for 21% off monthly. The discount summary under my account information reads as:
"This discount applies only to the primary line. It may exclude certain plans or devices like iPhone data features or packages. Look for the discount amount in the Monthly Charges section of your bill."
How will this discount be applied to the upcoming "Mobile Share" pricing structure? I have two phones on my account, one iPhone and one Android Smartphone. The base price for 6gb of shared data (along with unlimited talk and text) would be $90 + $35 for each phone = $160. Would my 21% discount be applied to:
a.) $90 (base price of the plan)
b.) $90 + $35 (base price of plan + first line)
c.) $90 + $35 + $35 (base price of plan + first line + second line)
d.) Only $35 (price of first line excluding base price of plan)
Option "B" makes the most logical sense to me since the discount would be applied to the equivalent of what a single line would pay. Option "D" would be a horrible mis-understanding of the intent of the discount and would anger me to the point of terminating my service.
Can you please clarify how this type of corporate discount will apply to the upcoming "Mobile Share" plans?

It would all be speculation now, depending on the way your fan is written, the discount may not even apply to the new plans, will have to see how it plays out and your main point of contact should be the people that takes care of your FAN discount, clarification will have to come from them since each FAN discount is negotiated at the employer level and can be different.
For example the ATT FAN we have only comes off the first line in a family plan or a single plan, there is no discount at all for data no matter what data plan you choose nor is it applied to any features like unlimited texting or family map

Which is why I have no intention of changing any of the data plans (one unlimited, two 2 GB) I currently have for my three lines on my FAN to any of the current data plans...or change my Family voice plan, for that matter--all still get the 25% discount (used to be 28%--too bad it got lowered but hey I can't complain about 25%, LOL) allowed under the current terms of my company's FAN.

this is a peer to peer forum, the only person that would post officially has already said in another thread on share data plan questions that she does not know and is checking into to.

This will be interesting to see. Through my company I am eligible for discounts through both ATT and VZ. I checked how the discount would work for VZ and it applies only to Data pool; not to any of the access fees. So for example: two smart phones would still be 40+40 (no discount) 4GB would be $70 -22% (= 55.60). Total in that scenario would be 135.60.
My ATT discount is 18% (Booooo) and my contract is expiring right around the effective date of this program. I would love to not have to juggle 3 different data plans any more and also have active hotspot for all devices (above example of two phones was for illustration purposes in case some smart alec wants to comment on the inconsistency of my post). The answer to the OP will go a long way to determine if I stay with ATT or switch to VZ. If same discount scheme, I'll switch to the bigger discount.

Jamileh verified in the other thread, the discount only applies to the shared dada

Well I guess if I transition to such a plan I'll go where the discount is better. Thank you for the confirmation; it's what I expected. In the mean time the regular family plans are sticking around for ATT so no real rush. Although at least VZ was smart enough to eliminate other plans so that you don't see the huge disparity in data prices among the different types of plans they offer. 4GB in Data Share = $70. 5GB in individual (or for one line in a family plan) = $50. Its the same data....both allow for hotspot....kind of in your face. I'm not bitter....just saying. Advertising the disparity is pretty brazen.

I'm glad that AT&T gave users a choice. The Mobile Share plans aren't cheaper for everyone, especially for those that don't need all of the things that Mobile Share offers.

but on the 5gb plan that is limited to one device, you can add up to 10 devices to that 5GB on the shared plan - there in lies the major different. Currently you want to add anotehr device with data you pay for the line and the data plan that is tied to that line.

The Mobile Share plans launch August 23rd. It's usually phones that come out on Sundays, and that's not 100%.
