Not receiving text messages (i didn't do anything at all to my phone)

Since mid-day yesterday I haven't received text messages.  I can send them, but talking to people physically over the phone and asking them to text me (as a test), I'm just not receiving them.

What can I do to fix this??  I read the other forum threads but they all physicall done something to their phone or it's a new phone etc.  I haven't done anything to my phone at all.

Im having the same problem. Sorry to jump in on your thread but I hope by bumping we will get a reply. I have a galaxy note N7000 internat version. Everything been fine with my settings and i havnt touch my phone either but the past three days I havnt been getting messages from the other people on my att account. They all have iphones. I cant understand not getting messages from three people and we are all on the same account! I get messages fine from other people even my girlfriend who also has att and a iphone (diff acct)

Sorry but I see no one has responded....I have a galaxy note and since yesterday morning I haven't been receiving messages....help!!!! I'm not paying for service I can't use! !!!

Have you tried reseting network settings and restarting the phone, If those fail call support

sorry for the lack of response.  it eventually came back after a week.  after doing absolutely nothing different.  

this seems to happen once every couple months.. and then all of a sudden i'll get a barrage of the missed texts all at once.  i think it's more just AT&Ts service and comes with the territory.. thx for any help/

carrier has little to do with it, sms delivery of meesage is best attempt, there is very little error checking on the protocol, if it makes it great if not it will retry to the limit set and then just drop into the bit bucket. SMS is not a very reliable transport, if it is important send it email

just got off the horn with AT&T. the fix for me was putting my SIM card into another phone. after the old phone booted up, i shut it down, then put the SIM back into my regular phone and VIOLA!! problem solved.

Same problem. GSIII

I actually had them g out on Friday, come back Saturday and then go out again Sunday. 

They didn't give me any solution the just "opened a case". Don't have another phone to try the SIM card trick out on. 

Any word on another solution? Just wait and suffer in silence while paying for a service you are not receiving?
