Not sure if there is a very simple answer to this problem. If I receive an e-mail message via mms to my phone, I can reply and the message gets to the proper e-mail address. The problem is, when I want to originate a message from my A177 to an e-mail address, the address line refuses to all me to put anything other than numbers into the address line. I am sure I am missing something pretty basic, but what is it?

In your address book in your phone, can you go to a contact and, instead of adding a phone number, add their email address?? Is there a place for that??
In my Contacts, I have places to list different phone numbers, home, work, etc. and also a place to list an email address. Your contacts have to first be save to the handset, usually, in order to be able to have the option to list the different numbers.
When I want to send an MMS to an email address, when it asks me who I want to "Send To", it will list my Contacts and then I can scroll though the numbers that I have in my phone for that person and it also lists their email address. Anyway, that is how mine works, I'm sure your's may be different. Maybe this will point you in the right direction.
Also, you can go to the top of this page to SUPPORT>SUPPORT BY TOPICS and enter the type of phone that you have. Then go to TUTORIALS. Here is a link, I hope it comes through.
Good luck!
