I'm sorry to hear you're getting spam texts. Here is a snip from a post I created earlier that should help:
Forward your spam text messages to 7726 and you'll receive confirmation that your forward was received almost instantly.
In most cases, you'll be asked to reply with the message with the spammer's phone number, so don't delete the spam text right away.
Here's more information: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB1158

Just got a new Go Phone & new phone number. I have yet to send my first text & I'm getting SPAM from AT&T affilliates at 10 cents a pop. Texts at my expense for Ads to City ID & junk like that. Never got SPAM texts on my old conventional account or phone mumber. Just the new number provided by AT&T.
It's annoying enough to get SPAM but I have to pay for it? AT&T affiliates? Who is really scamming me here? City ID or AT&T?
How do I opt out?

Not sure if this will help or not, and I don't know if you have downloaded any apps to your phones recently but some of those spam texts, IF you get any, could quite possibly be coming for the app.
I had a few myself, spam texts, and I got rid of the annoyance by deleting the app that was causing them.

Sorry you're getting spam texts on your new number. ![]()
Please take a look at the article I linked to earlier in this thread about reporting texts. We can only stop them if we know about them so reporting is super helpful.

Jamileh...here's a question...
I just got another spam text..not from a phone number though, I don't believe...but a computer, since the number was 1410000208. I forwarded the text to 7726 and received the free message back from ATT asking to send the phone number. I replied with the series of numbers, 1410000208, although it wasn't a phone number, and received another free message from ATT asking for the phone number again. What do we do in this case where the number is NOT a phone number???

That's a good question. As you've noticed, sometimes these messages are sent in such a way that a number doesn't appear.
I'll do a little research to see if there's a better way to report those messages that don't have an actual phone number associated with them.

Vernmargaret - you might consider switching numbers, or switching from ATT to a different provider, since you have no contract. There are better deals for prepaid than GoPhone.
