I am new to all this...I have the unlimited text for our family plan...if someone sends me ringtones or just a song via text and vice verse, I send them one...is that covered in the unlimited plan...I sure hope so...

Yes. The Unlimited Messaging for Families plan allows unlimited SMS (text message), MMS (multimedia message) and IM (instant message when using the pre-installed IM app that comes on AT&T/Cingular branded phones).
