USB Connect Mercury card using a Netgear 3G MBR624GU Router

I just purchased a Netgear 3G router to share the internet with home network.  I can't get the USB card to connect when installed in the router.  I can set up the router using Netgear's firmware but it will not connect.  Netgear tech support said I have to have a username and password from AT&T to complete connect info on router , AT&T support said they do not provide that information and the Mercury will not work in a USB router configuration.  I beleive it will work and the AT&T tech is misinformed.  Can anyone help me with what I need and how one goes about getting the logon process correct using a USB router with this Netgear 3G router?

Once you get it working just be careful to monitor use.  Most accounts are limited to 5 gig per month and the overage charges are high.  Sharing a connection is a quick route to overage charges.

Is there a way to force the Mercury card ato connect at 3G?  I know how to do it using the Communication Manager.  But using the Netgear MBR624GU, the ATT Communication Manager is not managing the Mercury card.

Yes, you would need the correct AT initialization string to put into your router.

Thank you for your comments.  I know how to force 3g using the following commands:

AT!band=02        3g
AT!band=00        auto

But, that only works when the Mercury is pluged into the laptop using ATT's Communication Manager.  When I plug it into the Netgear router, Netgear manages the Mercury devise using it's own software.  Where in the router do I enter the AT string?
