I just got a new phone last week, my first one with AT&T. I signed up for the unlimited messaging plan, and I will admit I've been texting like crazy. So just about half an hour ago I got a message from AT&T saying "You have exceeded $50 in messaging charges". I'm lost as to why that would happen, and I'm not exactly thrilled about the idea of potentially having to pay $50+ extra when I specifically signed up for the unlimited plan so I wouldn't have to worry about stuff like this. Has this happened to anybody else, and/or does anyone have any idea what would cause this?

Hi! If you have signed up for an account here kindly check your features online. It's just to make sure you do have an unlimited texting package. There's no capping for messaging so there's no way you would get that message if you do have the unlimited messaging plan. Calling in customer care wouldn't hurt either.
BTW, did you get the texting plan as soon as you got the phone? If it was added in a bit later, even if it was backdated, it's possible that the message you got was due to the amount of sms/mms you've sent while there was no plan on it. I do have to say WOW to $50 worth of messaging though. ![]()

It could be a simple matter of it being prorated. You only get a certain amount right away, even though it is "unlimited". Not sure, but its a thought. Hopefully they will fix it before you get a bill.
