Hello,
My wife is receiving Harrassing text messages from an ATT Subscriber to her Professional Email account (Community College).
This unstable person has sent approximately 40-50 text messages to date. This person is obviously abusing ATT's Terms of Service Aggreement.
We are in the Process of filing a formal complaint with Law Enforcement as well as our personal Attorney.
I am aware of abuse@att.com and Forwarding texts to 7726. That is fine for a couple text, but I need to report all of them.
How do I go about reporting this individual to ATT so ATT can deal with the appropriately like shutting down there Service etc... ?
TIA

Are these text messages or emails? I would telephone the appropriate entity (whether wireless or internet provider) as well as emailing the abuse account you mentioned.
Here is what I have sent other users when they have asked me about harrassment, threats, and other unwated email or texts...
If you are reporting harassment (threats of bodily harm or damage to property), please send an e-mail to abuse@att.net. with the subject line "Harassment" and include full message headers, firewall logs, and any other pertinent details in the body of the e-mail. If you are reporting harassment that suggests threats of bodily harm or damage to property, please take steps to protect yourself and your property by reporting the harassment to your local law enforcement agency. We will investigate your complaint as quickly as possible and, should the need arise, we will fully cooperate with local law enforcement.

Where possible, include details that would assist AT&T in investigating and resolving such complaint (e.g. expanded headers, IP address(s), a copy of the offending transmission and any log files).

Thank you very much for your reply Chris.
Her stalker is using Text Messaging to send to an Email address.
I have contacted ATT Wireless and they suggest the route you described...... --> abuse@att.net.
My concern is our Complaint will get lost in a big, black hole with all the other 1,000s of abuse cases. However, we WILL try.
We have contacted an Attorney and will be filing a complaint with the local Police Dept tomorrow AM. unfortunately, it is up to the individual officer to decide if he/she wishes to file charges.
In the meantime, my wife is in the process of consolidating, itemizing and organizing all the emails and text messages her stalker has sent her over the past (16) months!
Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated in this matter !
