When I enable speaker during a call my screen goes black and I cannot disable the speaker feature. How do I fix this?

During a call, can you press any other buttons and make the screen light up again? It sounds like the phone could be defective and you would have to call AT&T Warranty and get it exchanged. If you are within the 30 day return period, see if you can return the phone to your local AT&T store and get the phone swapped.

Screen going black during a call is normal for many phones, to prevent unnecessary battery drain. There's so many brands of phones that work differently.
