DSL Packet Loss and High Ping [ Edited ]

I live in the suburbs of Atlanta and I have been experiencing packet loss  and high ping on my connection for the past couple of weeks. This is preventing me from playing online games. Also, I am connected directly to the modem I have called in to customer support many times and the people don't even know what packet loss or ping is is. Can someone please help me?

I'm getting similar problems here in CT on DSL.  My ping to my TF2 server was always in the 20s, sometimes even in the teens if I was lucky, but one day about 3 and a half weeks ago my ping jumped to 50+ and still hasn't gone down (tested from multiple devices).  Kinda thinking this isn't gonna get fixed...

don't feel bad, here's what i get IF i can connect.

I'm also having this problem and contacted support, they said they were unable to verify the problem and needed to send a techician with a fee....

I'm in Florida, and our business internet account was having this same issue, pages would load partially or not at all, packets would drop, etc.

We called and talked to a technician, who said there was an issue with the firmware on their routers and that the code hasn't been updated yet for a patch release. He had us go into our wireless connection properties, (in your case might be LAN), select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), click Properties.

Select "Use the following DNS server addresses:"

For preferred DNS Server enter:  68.94.156.1

For alternate DNS Server enter: 68.94.157.1

Hopefully this will help someone like it did us, annoying when pages refuse to load or partially load.
