To whom it may concern,
I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop. They all use Microsoft Outlook 2007 or 2010 and until recently all of them worked just fine in getting email. Then there appeared to be some sort of problem with AT&T in general about connectivity and also a recent Microsoft patch send out. Now all of my Outlook's don't work. All of them are getting the exact same problem:
! Task- Receivig' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP.'
This has been going on for about 2 weeks. I logged onto at&t online and there was a notification that there were login issues and email problems. But then it looks like at&t just decided not to explain the problem or send something out as to how to fix the issue. The only way I can get email is going to Yahoo. That is totally un acceptable. What is going on and why the silence? This not good customer service or good customer response to an issue.
Sincerely,
Clinton {personal content removed for safety}

I have had EXACTLY the same problem. No solution yet. My iPhone retrieves email just fine. But Outlook does not work!

Similar problem with Outlook Express. For the past couple of weeks, I'm unable to access POP mail on two SBCGlobal accounts -- but only before noon! Typically, shortly before or after noon everything works fine. The error messages indicate that the accessing accounts' ID/password is/are invalid.
I tried EMailing Yahoo but the response was to contact AT&T. I tried that via a chat but broke off the dialogue when the customer service person wanted to do a remote takeover to solve the problem. Does AT&T not know there's a problem with mail client access to EMail or don't they know what to do about it and just hope it goes away?

Same problem here. AT&T would not/could not help. Very frustrating. Outlook on desktop doesn't work but does work on laptop.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 was working perfect for over a year. I then signed a new two-year contract with AT&T. From that day, I could no longer get my e-mail with Outlook. I then tried to call the customer service helpline and had to listen to a speech on trying to sell me a service that gives me access to "help" with my internet problems. We can all see the message on the AT&T website that says there are problems with login and password issues. Do they not have anyone on staff that is smart enough to fix the problem? I'm not convinced that this is an accident. I think they're trying to force everyone into paying for "help" to "fix" the problems that they've purposely created. [Per Guidelines: Keep it Relevant and Appropriate].

There is a security issue going on with Yahoo's servers and AT&T interface ongoing for some two weeks. Account was hacked by a "Ron {personal content removed for safety} which wrote to the signature line of the AT&T a bogus message from the FBI. The account convention (Yahoo logon, Options, More Options) was written to the aforesaid hacked mail address which in turn forwarded all emails to this hacker.
Do not open an email from said "Ron ". Delete same. Reported to FBI; they could care less being too busy looking after mid-level government drones.
Anyway, after cleaning up this mess in the AT&T.net account in said "More Options", Outlook 2010 cannot but sporatically hold the Pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com, smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com convention but will within hours (if confirmed) be denied by the Yahoo server and you start over again, and again and again until you figure out you are being suckered by these two "communications geniuses" and clueless Service Centers (Help Desks).
Yahoo and AT&T are not talking to one another and until they do we are without Outlook 2010 service. I'm sure they will NEVER let us know when and if these server issues are resolved.
Have wasted way too much time on this idiocy.
Am looking for another paid mail provider.
