Just today I've gotten a message from my Thunderbird email client that smtp.att.yahoo.com does not recognize my password. Since the password is saved on this computer and has not been changed, is there anything that can account for this error? I can still receive email (using Thunderbird), and I can send email using the AT&T website, but not from Thunderbird (just starting today). Any ideas?

you can still send/receive emails thru the webmail, right? try to check on the ff: settings:
open the thunderbird program.
Click on 'Tools' --> 'Account Settings'.
select 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' on the left panel and make sure that you have the following filled out:
Server Name: smtp.att.yahoo.com
Check the box next to 'User name and password'.
User Name: email@example.com or your complete email ID
Use secure connection: select 'SSL'.
check if you can send an email to yourself.
