I often do not receive emails from a correspondant in Australia who is using BIGPOND.COM ISP. We have a small group of 4 folks who discuss family genealogy and I do not receive the bigpond.com emails and must rely on others in the group from England using AOL to forward his emails to me. I do receive perhaps 25% of his emails but not the other 75%. They are NOT in my Spam folders - they just never arrive. My correspondant in Australia contacted Bigpond and they affirmed that the problem is not on their end and my correspondant does not receive bounced email notices. I suspect the ATT Yahoo mail servers are for some reason filtering (internal spam filter?) these oversees emails. How do I investigate and resolve this issue. It's been going on for over a year.

Welcome billolsendr and thank you for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the blocked emails. The following solution has additional information on why this may be happening and the options to get help...
Why am I receiving email errors like "Service Unavailable" and "Your Domain Is Banned"?
Regards,
Alex

Thanks, Alex. I checked the URL that you referenced but I do not see how it directs me any further to a solution from my end. Is there a URL with a list of banned ISP's? Is Bigpond.com on this list, any list? That would be helpful. Where do I go next?
Here is the statement from my correspondants ISP (Bigpond.cm). They deny any problem on their end:
"Thank you for your email dated 02/07/2012 regarding your email issue.
If he is the only one who can not receive your emails, it could be a problem with his incoming mail server. What possibly happened here is that the email that you sent could be misrouted to his spam/junk folder or sitting somewhere on his mail server. If the email failed to reach its destination, you will receive a bounced email stating that it failed to reach one or more recipient. If you did not receive a bounced error message then the email was sent successfully.
I suggest that you advise the recipient who did not receive your email to report this incident to his email provider to investigate it further.
If you have any other questions, please visit our Help Centre at www.bigpond.com/help. "
I would like to avoid both ISP pointing fingers at one another and saying "Not my Problem". How do we get to the bottom of this problem and solve it.
Thanks, Bill

Hey Bill, using the Block Inquiry Website link within the solution, you want to select the last option on the page Tools for non AT&T users whose messages have been blocked , complete the web form to submit your request.

Alex

I saw that page (http://rbl.att.net/cgi-bin/rbl/block_admin.cgi) and there is nothing in that form that appears to apply. What fields on this form apply to my problem? The ISP (Bigpond.com) has already sent an email response that it isn't their problem. (See my previous email.) Besides I am on the receiver side, not the sender or sender ISP side. What can ATT do from this side of the pond to investigate? All I am asking for is there a list of blocked ISP's used by ATT email servers and how to investigate whether Bigpond.com is on this list. Please, this is not ping pong!
Thanks,
Bill

Hey Bill, certainly not intended to be "ping-pong" but to answer your questions. I do not have additional information beyond what I shared. Since this is account specific, please send me a Private Message with your name, account number, phone number and the best time to contact you. We'll get you in touch with the group that can look into it.
*To send a private message, you can either click on the link in this message or click on the little blue envelope in the upper right hand corner, click "compose new message" and type my username in the "Send To" field.
