go to http://att.net/attpby website and migrate each of your accounts, starting with the primary email ID. this will migrate the accounts to free AT&T email ID. yes, you'll be able to keep the same email domain of @att.net. it won't change to @yahoo.com.

yes, the att.net/attpby is the open portal page. it will convert your id to free att email id. you'll end up using the by email server settings. you should be able to continue sending/receiving emails once migrated/converted.

Hello Bud1,
The AT&T POP and SMTP server settings will not work on your email client (Outlook) with the AT&T worldNet account which has been migrated to AT&T PBY! for free, because that account will work as free Yahoo! account and that email account will be accessible through the web mail.
However, if the AT&T WorldNet account was migrated to AT&T DSL/DIAL services, you will be able to use your AT&T email account on your email client (Outlook).
In order to confirm, whether your AT&T WorldNet account was migrated to AT&T PBY for free or AT&T DSL/DIAL services, it is recommended that you contact AT&T eChat support.
If you are in, 'AR, CA, CT, IL, IN, KS, MI, MO, NV, OH, OK, TX, & WI', you may click on the following link to connect to a chat agent.

I am assuming since this thread is not closed, I can add to it and ask a question. I no longer need DSL service and am still paying for basic to retain my email address. I would like to migrate to a free yahoo account but need to confirm whether or not my current email messages will migrate with me. I'm already using the yahoo portal and want to convert. When you speak with customer service, the only option you are offered is for a paid account, not a free one. Any additonal insight would be appreciated.

ATT is pretty worthless. If you discontinue service with them becuase they do not provide services you want where you are moving, they kill your email address. Cannot or will nto covnert it to a yahoo address, though yahoo is driving the email adress. Just spent 45 minutes wiht a worthless chat tech support expert. PRetty crappy ATT, about as good as my non-existent Iphone service.

Hey Penny_1
After 2 days of run around trying to close the $7.95 dial up account and keep my att.net powered by Yahoo for free, here's the number that actually got everything solved, AT&T Dial Billing 866-435-3264. This one WORKS!

I called the # suggested below...866-435-3264... this was a total waste of time.. i spent 35 minutes on the phone.. the rep said i CAN NOT stop paying for my att.net (powered by yahoo) email and keep my email addresses (i have 3 for 15 years) and get the same exact service for free.
He did say i can close my account, which means i lose all of my historical emails and no one can get in touch with me.. The I can get a new att.net (powered by yahoo) email for free...
In order to keep my email addresses i have to continue to pay!!! DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? I have to pay for something they give away for free.
So.. I asked to speak to the supervisor, then the supervisor's supervisor... He said I can do it by googling att.net.id.free... I did that and all it did was take me to a website that would give me the free email.. but it won't let my transfer my account..
GRAND WASTE OF TIME....
Can anyone help?
