sbcglobal free email address - hacked and locked!

I have had these email accounts for many years and earlier this week my daughter (college) called to tell me she was hacked and couldn't change her password so I called ATT and the first person (of 6 different people) did something to the account and now we can't do anything to get back into it!  Is there a way someone can help by resetting her password?  When I do it online, it says I have to call ATT but ATT says they can't help....... She just applied for multiple internship and used this email address!  Thanks! Susan

I am having the same problem, I cannot login, I cannot change password, becasue it is old account and I had no security questions or alternate e-mail addresses.  If I cant recover password then I want to at least deactivate account because I dont want whoever hacked it to have access to all my e-mails

The exact same thing has happened to me.  Very frustrating to be shuffled from person to person.  Please offer assistance in either unlocking my account or disabling.

Same here, there are a lot of complaint for the same situation since years ago when AT&T took over Bellsouth.

What is the full email address for ATTalexcm?  I am not locked out of my account but I can no longer log in from

Thunderbird, email will not accept my password.  I can log in from Yahoo, but a the popup box comes up with

the squiqqily letters and numbers.  How do I solve this problem? 

I got hacked by an advertisment hacked who sent a link out to all my email contacts.  And now I am receiving

emails from some of my contacts with the same link.......

I have an sbcglobal email address and retrieve my mail using MacMail. A few weeks ago I began getting "password rejected by the sbcglobal server" error messages. I can access my mail using the Yahoo mail on my Home Page, but I don't like its formatting. I have successfully used MacMail for years.
After numerous calls to tech support in India (and having to pay a fee for connecting to their alleged Connection Specialists and much resetting of MacMail Prefs the MacMail worked for a while, then failed. More calls, more resetting, more temporary working, then fail. I finally went to Apple Tech support (Native English speaker in Texas- Yay!) got a real expert in MacMail and checked settings. We got them to work. MacMail was up for a few days (hours?) then down again. This has been the pattern for the last couple of weeks. Up for a dy or two or three, then down-again. Then up again after some variable time. The tech at Apple said thet other ATT/Yahoo/Uverse customers have been calling with the same problem and it was his opinion that ATT/Yahoo was having server problems that came and went. His advice was to wait it out and perhaps they will get it fixed. He said that ATT wouldn't talk to them (Apple Tech Support) either but the tech community had heard unofficaill about this.
I'm down again after three days of being up- I am just about to find a new provider and to fire ATT Uverse broadband. My internet is solid and troublefree so that would be a shame.

Having the same problem here.

Had to reset password twice in the last week.

Each time, it took a about 1/2 to 1 hour after resetting the password before I could access my email account.

Having the exact same problem, working one day, then rejecting the next. AT&T will not admit to anything, spent 2hrs yesterday getting a sub account to work when the password was rejected on all of my devices. Got it all working by 5pm, and now Mac Mail rejecting password again..

I have same problem   sbcglobal.net account considered free now that I changed to loop DSL and I can't get to my email as someone hijacked and changed password       ATT says they can't help      Yahoo says they cant help.     I REALLY need this account     Can you help?

Same issue for me with my free prodigy.net email.    I cannot get an answer from AT&T how to reset the password after being locked out last night.

My sbcglobal.net account was hacked and spam sent out under my name.  The account is a sub-account of mine.  I am unable to re-set password or even gain access to a web page that will allow me to do so.  The email is *******@sbcglobal.net.  This is not the main account.
