I have read about managing the 2Wire configuration settings, but when I pull up the page to do so in a browser window I don't have any options showing to make changes. It will show the stats, but most of the "tabs" are either blank or show forms that do not have entries to change any of the settings.
I am on a Macintosh computer, but tried pulling it up from Windows running on a Virtual Machine as well. I know that I chose to go with a slower speed than my previous provider, but I'm only operating at about 1/3 (at best) of what I was getting with RoadRunner.

Are you trying this link?
There are older ones posted on the forum, but recently anything with mdc after it cannot be accessed.

That is the one, a screen shot of how it appears (if this works)...

OK, have to wait for the Mod to approve the photo, standard procedure. You can see it, but we can't, yet.

It doesn't matter what browser or OS I use, though I have not installed Unix to test it with, it shows up the same. I have tried Windows XP and OS X, Safari, IE, and Firefox (both Mac and PC) with the same results. I can see the system information but any of the tabs that have the settings are either completely blank or have partial forms with blank pull downs and no text.

For one, the RG settings don't work all that well accessing them from a Mac. Even a Mac that can run Windows. If you have a Windows PC. you're best bet is to use that to access the settings or call in to tech support to have them access the RG from their end.

Well... I will have to see if I can get my PC laptop working. The last time I tried it it wouldn't start up.

Time out guys - I just went to my wife's Mac and went to our RG via Firefox. It works fine. There is no 'issue' with Mac's or other standard browsers displaying the 2wire RG's management interface. If that screen shot was right - that the interface isn't fully loading - either something is whacked with that specific RG or something is whacked with that Mac.
Aside from the management interface - is everything else seeming to work correctly? I'd try rebooting / powering everything down as just a ... first start and see if the issue persists.

Sorry about the mixup bsdsmb! I meant that the settings might be a little different to refresh the page and such. Just for someone who might be new to Mac.

Everything seems to work fine. I'm not happy with the speed, but I went down from RR's 5-6 MB to 3MB. Still when downloading files I'm only getting about 1/3 the speed that I did with RR.

Just a little tip for internet speed : look to see what else is running on your computer that could be lagging your processor.

From the 2Wire speed test site:
What does this test actually measure?
This connection tests how fast your computer can load a Web page from the 2Wire Website. It does not measure the speed of your ISP connection, but rather the speed at which the page is received and appears in your browser.
Why do other "bandwidth" meters give different results?
Bandwidth does not always mean the same thing. Other meters measure how fast your connection is able to find a requested Website, or how fast you can send and receive email.
How do I determine if my results are good or poor?
Your results should be consistent and should not change dramatically. If you receive inconsistent results, such as a high number then a low number, you may be experiencing a problem with your connection

Resetting the gateway seems to have resolved the issue with the set-up/management link. It now says the broadband is getting 19192Kbps down and 2040Kbps up. Wireless is set to 802.11b/g at 54 MBPS. It's kind of annoying that they don't have a 802.11 n capable router, I have an airport xtream that I had been using and my macs all have a 802.11 n card in them.
Anyway now it's time to read up on the settings and see what they mean. I seem to have a lot of web pages that won't load at first then sometimes will on refresh. I've even had quite a number of problems loading AT&T's pages.
I'm also not happy with the speed, though I know right now I'm only paying for the low end I would like to make sure everything is working right before deciding to upgrade to the higher speed.
And Thanks everyone for your input!

If you don't have any "B" devices on your network, and the RG allows it, set the wireless to "G" only. This will keep any "B" devices that come into range of the RG from slowing down your wireless.

Good Point! I had forgotten about that one. I know what I'm doing with my modem tonight. LOL

If you already have an airport basestation that has 802.11n, you can keep using that as your wireless. Just log into the RG and turn off the wireless radio (Disable) in the RG, then plug your old Airport base station into the RG. Viola ... you will then have the added speed and range of 802.11n. And you probably will have a little better and more reliable performance with your Mac computers.
Over time, there have been the occassional issues and fights between Mac's and the 2wire router.
Ironic, since they both appear to be running BSD as their core OS. Hmmm.
