Chris,
I don't have an account on the wireless forum. Actually, I still have the original email in my same email account from when I joined the forum and it did not have the _1. All of my recent prior posts seem to reflect the new name with the _1 too.
Do I just send a PM to "wendy" as far as trying to remove the _1 or consolidate accounts?

I read where someone said they went to their profile and changed their username back to the original and that worked for them.

I went looking for an option like that but did not see one. I'll take another look.

You can't do it yourself. Send a PM to Wendy (our Mod) and explain the situation.

Are you too far away from the VRAD?

No, they are saying it's a software issue. An update not yet available in my area.

I thought since you only had 1HD it was a VRAD issue, but not even 2HD? ![]()

Mine was updated some time ago, but the wan never changed from 2/2. I called tier 2 last week and he told me that it was listed as having been changed already. He had to e-mail someone else because it was locked for some reason.
A reboot later and I have 4HD streams.
I was told to look closely around Christmas because my area was supposed to start testing 8 streams then.

My wan profile has been 1sd/3hd for sometime. Last week i finally decided to reboot my DVR. After doing was i surprised to find out that i now have 1sd/3hd for the ingress. What's next? Hopefully 4hd is on the horizon.

Are you FTTP, by chance? If not, and the rep wasn't mistaken, it means a profile upgrade soon. ![]()

I'm FTTP and that sure would be nice. I'd settle for 6, but 8 would be just dandy.

Interesting, 8 would be the max number of receivers they allow (7) plus an extra stream for the DVR. They'd need something around an 80 mbps profile for that.

Nah. Even if all were HD it would only take 48 Mbps for TV. There aren't enough VDSL2 customers with enough headroom to go 60, especially considering that 64 is the absolute maximum for VDSL2 without pair bonding.
I frankly would expect that the an 8 stream profile would be 4HD/4SD, which would only need 32 Mbps. To leave any room for concurrent Internet, they would still have to come up with a new WAN profile, but 40 Mbps would fill that bill and there are plenty of subscribers who could go there.

64Mbps is the maximum rate for AT&T's implementation (i.e. it's software limited/capped). The VDSL2 protocol itself can do quite a bit more than that.
A 40 Mbps WAN profile is something I theorized on back in January of this year when I was doing some line stats analysis. The problem is that I can see from my line stats database that only about 50% of subscribers have a line that would qualify for it. You need in excess of 50 Mbps of max rate, and that generally only happens to those within 1500' of the VRAD.
I would consider it more likely to have a 6 stream channel profile (4HD/2SD) which only needs 28 Mbps, and can run on a 32/5 WAN profile.

That is what I meant, if not what I said. ![]()

I would be quite okay with that. With my current equipment and service level, I'd be very happy with 0HD/6SD.

No, I am almost the max distance to get 4HD. He told me that they had a limit of 8 sets right now and that they were going to be testing 8 streams so that they could all be active at the same time. He didn't say SD or HD, and I didn't ask. I have 5 at my house, but there are only two of us living here right now, so it wasn't an issue to me.
I record everything and skip ads. My dad (he's 82 now) watches live TV only. My girlfriend doesn't watch much TV, so even if we marry I don't think we need more. 4HD is enough for me right now, but getting 8 would be cool for those very rare times that more than 3 shows are on at once.
What would be better, actually is allowing me more DVR units, and bigger hard drives. I sometimes have work that sends me overseas for 4-6 weeks at a time. I would really like to record every show while I'm gone and decide what I don't have time to watch when I get back.

Got the 4th HD stream here in Fishers, IN, today! The 1SD/3HD ingress profile on the DVR preceded the 0SD/4HD WAN profile by a couple of weeks, which seems to be the common theme.

I didn't know that. I'm still on the 2SD/2HD ingress profile. So I guess it will be a while, not that I need 4HD.

What is your line profile (32/5, 25/2 or 19/2)?

Chicagoland - northern burbs (no idea if 0/4 is available here)
32/5 profile
After STB/DVR reboot today
WAN 1SD / 3HD 26960400 <-- this value went down after reboot
Ingress 1SD /3HD " "
Egress 18973600 1 SD / 2HD
My questions:
Why does one have to call sales or TS to get 0/4 ?
How would the thousands of Uverse customers that don't visit here know about this?
With 1 HDTV what does 0/4 buy me?
I was gonna ask how the average Uverse customer would understand any of this, but I decided not to.

The 4 HD profile is being rolled out market by market. When it is initially introduced in a market, it is used on new customer installs; however, existing customers can call to request the upgrade. Later the 4 HD profile is then automatically rolled out to existing customers who are on the 32/5 profile. We have already seen the automatic updates for existing customers in some markets.
You only have to call to request the upgrade if you are impatient, like me, and don't want to wait. ![]()
