I think it's so ridiculous that I've had AMC for almost 2 years now on u-verse, yet they still don't have HD for it. with shows like breaking bad and mad men currently on, and upcoming shows like rubicon, hell on wheels, and the one I'm really waiting for, the walking dead, they really better step up and get this done by october when the new shows start to air. I haven't heard anything about it either. I tried contacting AMC and got no word from them yet, and ATT; no one seems to know what's going on over there either. This all begs the question, does anybody even have a clue?

Sure, here is a clue, have you read any of the threads about AMC? There are numerous ones on this page.
U-Verse just renegoiated the AMC contract. Rainbow networks own AMC and has NOT granted U-Verse the rights to carry HD. If you want to complain, go to the rainbow media web site. We believe the HD carrige rights may have been included with the negoiations and we may see AMC HD soon.
AMC has just been made available in some markets because of this new deal w/Rainbow media.
It's probably right around the corner!!

You have been fortunate. Until recently, AMC was not available in some U-verse markets. Also, up until this point Rainbow Media, owners of AMC, have not made the HD version of the channel available to U-verse. You can direct your complaints to Rainbow Media.
By the way, what will happen if AT&T is not carrying AMC HD by October?

[text removed - keep it courteous]
This only took me a few seconds, but you probably spent a good hour coming up with your rude, un-witty repartee.

BTW: For those of you that like teen vampire shows, Gossip Girls, Gilmore Girls, etc., I mean no offense.

I emailed Rainbow Media a few weeks back about this and haven't heard anything. Has anyone gotten any updated info/responses back?

None of us here will have a clue. Being a peer to peer forum, anything posted here is PURE speculation. Occasionally an AT&T employee will reply on here, but they are required to post their affiliation to the company. You can bet your bottom dollar they WILL NOT post any status on upcoming channel adds, deletions, contract negotiation status, etc... not if they want to remain gainfully employed.
It's just plain good business practice to keep this information close to the vest. (I know a bunch of folks will reply "We pay good money and we have the right to know.. yada yada yada)..
Actually you don't -- you have a right to know what you are paying for but you don't have the right to know what a company is planning. If you feel differently, please post the name of the company that does so. I may want to invest in their stock..

Randy.. they won't be allowed to post anticipated channel ad dates either. It's just not a good business practice.
They are also not AT&T employees, rather a 3rd party vendor that monitors the forums (unless that has changed with this "new" format) ... Which still "stinks" .. it shows me as a Visitor

I've personally been in the position of being "in the know" about things going on at work and having to bite my tongue about all the misinformation going on in public forums. It can be painful.
