When can we expect AMC HD?  I need my Mad Men!

Are the negotiations for AMC HD in progress?  I haven't heard anything about that.

They don't let us know when they are negotiating for a new channel.  They either announce it or the channels just show up.  At least that has been my experience with UV so far.

Ah, so your post basically meant they'll carry it when they carry it.  Sounded to me at first like you had some insider knowledge they were actually in negotiations right now to pick up AMC HD...

If I had insider information I wouldn't have posted anything, just like all of the other ATT employees who read the posts in this forum.  I used to work at a television network that is on Directv, Comcast, TWC, and Uverse, and I know what we had to do to get launched with those and many other service providers here and in other countries.  FYI, the network launched on Comcast but Comcast didn't carry it in all of the cities that they provide cable services.  So it is no surprise to me that some channels AMC specifically hasn't launched in all of the regions that Uverse provides services.

I know!  It'll be on this Sunday and we still don't have AMC in HD yet!  Watching Breaking Bad in SD was already disappointing, now we have to endure it with Mad Man, too?  Unacceptable!!!!  We need AMC in HD, PLEASE!  DRAPER, DO SOMETHING!

when i go to the tv listings at the top of this page and put in channel 796 it shows mad men as being in HD but if I go to 1796 there isn't a channel listed. **bleep** is going on?

Currently, U-verse does not carry the HD version of AMC.

Just got the news that U-Verse is available in my area, so I've begun my research on it versus my current provider Cox.

Noted that the first post on this topic is almost two years ago, & still no AMC HD? That is just pitiful... =(

that's a big negative mark on the U-Verse side.

Call ATT your self, this forum is point less, you either cheer ATT, or bully ATT critics, or you look at other providers that offers the channel you want, from what I've read AMC HD, FUSE HD, IFC HD, is owned by the same company, and  Att has no plan to carry them.......see even I can BS on this forum! Keep waiting, but seriously now, call att!!!!!

UVerse has never had AMC HD and until recently, not all markets had AMC.  It was only after the new contract was signed that AMC was expanded to cover all area.

As for NHL Network, what issues are you having with it?  I'm able to watch both SD and HD channels.

I wouldn't say making a public statement is pointless.  

While most don't post here I'd bet many U-verse executives do read through here.  That's has been the case at companies I've been with.  I've been in executive meetings where someone will say, "Did you see what so and so said on his blog?"

The main point you can gather from this forum are:

1. Urge sucks
2. the 0.1% of customers that watched Hallmark are angry
3. PQ is bad on many channels
4. customers have problems with bad coax installs
5. customers want missing HD channels
6. TiVo is better
7. Comcast sucks but has more VOD
8. customers want better hide/show functionality

In all truth though, executives only care about channel carriage if they think it will increase subscription rates, prevent churn or make for good marketing talking points.

Your list seems to cover the main topics from these forums, however, those of us that frequent the formus represent less than 1% of the UVerse population.  The majority of UVerse customer do not have the issues that are brought up on here and have no issues with the picture quality, the lack of certain channels or the terrible music channels carried by UVerse. Companies will use bigger surveys such as JD Powers and Consumer Reports as opposed to a peer to peer forum to determine business strategy.

AMC is owned by Rainbow which is a division of Cablevision.  Since AT&T competes with Cablevision in Connecticut most likely Rainbow will not let AT&T carry AMC HD in order to give Cablevision a competive advantage.  It's the same reason AT&T doesn't get MSG Network in HD.

Didn't you say you were switching TV providers anyway? Make sure you are switching to one that offers AMC HD.  Not all TV providers offer this channel in HD.  Check before you make the switch.  I would not want to see you unhappy with your new provider.
