No Angels games? Thanks for the notice!

We tried to watch the Angels game last night on FSN as well only to find a boxing match instead.  No notice or info about this blackout on the A T & T website.  Apparently, A T & T is in negotiations with FSN regarding Angels baseball.  As of today, a number of future games including tonight's will be blacked out.  Please call/post to voice your dissatisfaction with A T & T!!

Problem is where to voice your dissatisfaction. You think At&T cares about this discussion board? I just got off the phone with them and all I got was PO box that I can write to. Where is the email contact that I can send something? I would really like to know what games we are not going to see! Is it that hard for them to let us know in advance?

I requested updates from Fox Sports on this situation (as they said they would send if you gave your e-mail address) but nothing yet from them. Maybe we should ask Fox for a contact at ATT that they deal with. The Fox contact is shown on their page that says to contact your pay TV supplier to complain.

Yeah I read the same thing. I sent FSW an email asking for the list as well. I'm still going to write ATT a letter even thought there should be a better way for us to voice our complaints than this discussion board. I guarantee none of this makes it to the person that needs to see it.

In my experience with working in this industry it sounds like the network and u-verse are in negotiation.

ATT is such a great company. No warning or any info from them about not airing any Angels games. I called ATT-Uverse last night to find out the details of their decision to not air the game(s). Instead I get to talk to 3 different operators about the fact that my bill is past due by 4 days. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor. 'Catherine' is next on the line. Let's just say she was just a little ***. She acknowledged that no info was sent to any of their customers about the decision to drop Angels telecasts from their programing and had received more than a couple of calls from people like me. However, since I was an HD customer, she could waive the $7 fee and connect me to their special channel on Uverse HD and allow me to see the game. Great!  Only to come back and say because I was 4 days over due, there was nothing she could do and hung up on me!

Six months of bad service and now this? I'm done with ATT. Back to DirecTV. The were great for 10 years. My mistake for thinking anything good could come from ATT.  Wow. As I'm writing this comment, ATT is leaving me a message on my answering maching asking me to take a survey about their customer service on last nights phone call. You can't make this stuff up!

Whether it is DTV, Cox, Comcast, U-Verse, Time Warner please understand that Fox Sports have the upper hand and if they want to have any of those providers pay more money for their services they can. The contracts Fox Sports have with these providers only for a year or two usually. If I were you I wouldn't be quick to jump ship soon.

Its actually very easy to drop AttUverse.  I called and the woman was nice and understaning.  I just need to drop my equipment off at UPS.  I would maintain that Uverse customers and Dish Network customers are different types of customers.  I could see how Dish would fight and go against any type of rate increase by networks.  Dish sells mainly on price.  Uverse sells more on quality and programing.  I want to watch Angels games and I don't ever want to hear that the company I'm paying won't provide me with the games due to "ongoing negotiations".  Uverse needs to better understand their customer base.

Tonight (4/17) & tomorrow (4/18) 'blacked-out' on Uverse
Next blackouts will be 5/14 & 5/21 & 5/22.
She told me 25 games total will be blacked out but they are in 'negotiations' to resolve it. She also said they plan to update website with dates of blackouts(but no clue when...)

What is the special channel?  So is there a way around the blackout?  I have the 450 package and ccouldn't find it airing anywhere else

I can't believe that I pay $135 a month for service and can't watch the Angels on TV because I have U=Verse.......  If I had basic TWC, I'd be watching the game right now instead of the Dan Patrick Show.

Anyone from ATT that would like to reslove this issue and keep my account and MONEY can feel free to contact me.  But don't bother if the games are shown LIVE

This is ridiculous! Called ATT and they calmly told me that they decised not to purchase Angels broadcast form Fox Sports West. Oh well, cancelling my subscribtion tomorrow for Direct TV.  SHAME ON YOU ATT!

I have had nothing but major issues with ATT since I signed up for U-Verse. From the original contractor not installing my equipment correctly, to the NUMEROUS phone calls to India to try and get my issues resolved without satisfactory resolution (going on 2 years now), being treated like a irritant, not a customer, interrupted service (TV and Internet), and now THIS?? I'm a contractor and would get the pants sued off me if I behaved like ATT! You CANT install something in someones home that does not work as advertised, and just walk away. Now, as a long time resident of Anaheim and fan of the Angels, I'm getting blacked out over some stupid contract dispute?

I pay over $200 a month for the service, mostly because Verizon FiOS was not available in my area and my 2 year contract with DirecTV expired, so U-Verse was cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for.

DirecTV is WAAY cheaper for WAAAY more channels (for the first 24 months anyway, but then I'll just switch again!!!). Looks like I'm going back. ATT is going to be hemorraging customers if they can't figure this stuff out. Its not like it was a surprise that FSW picked up the extra games. What is ATT waiting for, some sort of cosmic alignment?

And Texasguy, I appreciate what you are trying to do in this thread, but you are coming across like an ATT apologist and with a forum full of angry sports fans, prolly not a good tactic.

I'm cancelling my service effective immediately.

Texasguy37 does not receive any salary or monetary compensation from AT&T. His only pay are complimentary steak knife sets from disgruntled posters. He is not an employee of AT&T. He is a subscriber to U-Verse just like you.

Didn't we just go through this last year with the Cardinals?  AGAIN AT&T is not the bad guy, blame the Angels and FSW for taking games off of FREE tv and putting them on a cable channel then demanding more money while having a valid contract in place already. 

Complain to Angels management for over spending on a fading first baseman and a no. 4 starting pitcher and complain to Fox Sports West for kidnapping customers and holding them hostage.

I am absolutely furious that Fox Sport's marketing department continues to outfox AT&T's PR department at every turn.  They demand more money for additional content during an already negotiated carriage period, AT&T says "No, that's too much money" so Fox Sports withholds the extra content and it's all AT&T's fault.

My wife and I are also going to Time Warner. ATT Uverse did not pick up 25 Angel games on FSW this year. They picked up the Dodgers but not the Angel, go figure. Just another good reason to switch my TV, Internet and phones to Time Warner..

Fact check:  In 2012, the Dodgers will broadcast approximately two thirds of their games on Fox Sports Prime Ticket and one third on KCAL 9. This is the same as in previous years; therefore, Fox Sports would have no reason to request additional fees from U-verse for the Dodgers games.

On the other hand, Fox Sports West will broadcast 150 Angels games which is an increase of 25 from previous seasons.  The additional 25 games were previously broadcast on KCOP.  Fox Sports is requesting additional fees for the extra 25 games that will be broadcast.  Both U-verse and Dish have not agreed to pay the additional fees.  As a result, Fox Sports will withhold those extra 25 games, and only 125 games will be made available.  The 125 games that will be made available is the same number of games that Fox Sports carried in previous seasons.

Next year it will be both the Dodgers and Lakers fans going through this.  Both just signed huge TV deals.  The Dodgers deal with fox Sprts is twice that of the Padres, think they will pay for that one?  And the Lakers have an even larger deal with Time Warner.  I have to laugh at the person that says Time Warner Cable cares about their customers.  They are no better than Uverse when it comes to sports programming at least here in San Diego.
