Care to tell us who exactly they are?
I believe RC is taking about a different situation than the 25 Angels games that are in dispute which is the topic of this thread. He must be referring to the blackout of out of market games on the RSN's which is an MLB policy.

Why are you folks irritated at AT&T or DISH?
This whole snafu stems from the fact that Fox Sports was already transmitting these games via KCOP for free. Now, they change the deal by moving those games to Fox Sports channel and then demand the content companies start paying for these "extra" games. Where's the enhanced value for consumers?
Nowhere.
FOX paid a huge sum to the Angels (How did you think they can afford Pujol's contract???) for the exclusive rights and now is the one that's jacking the pricing! If you're irritated at your content provider, it means that you think THEY should absorb the additional costs regardless of whether the numbers make fiscal sense for them. When AT&T or DISH fights with firms like Fox against these costs, they are fighting for YOU. Fox knows that the content delivery companies will have to pass the additional cost(s) on to consumers or get squeezed.
In my book, this is monopoly pricing and extortion.

Actually the deal with FSW was done before Pujols and Wilson were signed. That was the reason why the Angels could afford those two deals.
I understand why FSW wants more money. They are paying about 3 times as much as they were before the new media deal. I also understand why ATT doesnt want to pay more. The addition of 25 games is not really that much more considering all the other sports programming on the channel.

I also can understand where all sides are coming from on this issue. The problem for AT&T aand Dish customers is that their neighbors who have a carrier who paid the fee get to watch the games while they deal with the blackouts. When you are paying a lot of money for your service that gets very frustrating. I understand all to well.I had TWC for over two years and had to deal with them not having the NFL network. It was one of the deciding factors when I left them last year.

Call U-verse and complain is you are fed up that U-Verse is blacking out selected Angel telecasts.
The Angels have contracted with FSN to televise ALL of their games this season and U-Verse is not buying into it. This is U-Verse saying no to FSN and denying their customers the right to watch Angel games. U-verse is blaming FSN but ironically FSN is televising all games on other providers platforms like DirecTV.
What' s even worse is that U-Verse is a sponsor of the Angels. They are advertising and promoting their services at Angel games. The nerve and arrogance of them to promote themselves when they can't deliver the product that they are promoting and making believe (or lying???) that they are the best place to watch Angel games. Are you kidding me? They're blacking out games and they are lying to Angel fans.
I will cancel U-verse if this continues. I've had enough of their games and fed up with their customer service.
Call U-verse and tell them you're fed up, and when you get them on the phone ask to be compensated for their failure to deliver FSN WEST at it's fullest capability. You'll get credited $25 dollars or so. If every one starts requesting a credit, I suspect money matters will begin to make the final impact.

Angels pitcher Jared Weaver pitched a NO HITTER last night and did my husband and I I see it? NO! Because that was one of the games U-Verse blacked-out this season. I don't really want to, but it looks like we will be going back to DirecTV because it's a long season!!

I, along with everyone I know who has AT&T, are really upset about losing so many Angels games on Fox Sports West. We probably missed one of the best games of the season last night.
This is not fair to the AT&T subscribers who pay a lot of money every month (and each month it seems to increase). We are paying for a service we are not receiving.
Come on AT&T - let's get your act together and broadcast all the ANGEL games for the remainder of the season.
If this kind of service continues, we definitely will be looking for a new provider.

I just got off the phone with customer service. The first guy tried to tell me it was the networks (FSN) fault and to call them. I didn't accept that and said I was thinking of leaving so he sent me to a retention specialist. She said management was aware of the situation and there was nothing that she could do. She did offer to give me my 4 receivers free for a year IF I AGREED TO A 1 YEAR COMMITMENT! AT&T won't commit to me to put the Angels on, why in the world would I commit to them?
Can anyone recommend a new provider in North Orange County? I am done with U-verse internet, phone, and TV. How many $165/month customers can they afford to lose? Unfortunately probably all Angel fans, since I'm sure their bean counters have already done the math and it is cheaper to lose us. $ before service, bye bye AT&T...

AT&T does not control programming shown on KCOP or any other channel. They also do not have control over what channel will broadcast a team's games. Broadcast rights are negotiated between a team and a broadcaster. The Angels could have easily left the 25 games on KCOP as opposed to signing a new agreement for them to be carried on Fox Sports West.

Yes, the Angels could have left the games on KCOP but they didn't. So now what? Does AT&T put the 25 games on a U-verse Pay Per View as an option to true Angel Fans? Does AT&T suck it up for this season because this is the cards they were dealt and owe it to their customers as other providers did? Does AT&T at least have the courtesy to advise their customers of the current situation and what games will be shown and which ones are the overpriced 25? No on all counts. All I want is straight answers and AT&T is not capable/willing to do that.

AT&T does not have the broadcast rights for those games and cannot place them anywhere. You seen to think that all fault lies with AT&T, and do not see the Angels' role in the mess that has been created. The Angels will get their $3 billion in broadcast rights from Fox Sports regardless of how many providers carry or do not carry the extra 25 games. This dispute has no impact on them, They cut their new deal, have their cash and are laughing all the way to the bank. Whether their fans have access to all the games does not matter.

It is not that I think all the fault lies with AT&T, it is just that what is done is done, MLB teams hold the cards and deal them as they see fit ($$$). My question is simply, what is AT&T going to do now? Could AT&T not buy those 25 game broadcast rights and sell as Pay Per View? Could they not step up and provide the 25 games? Could they not post what 25 games they are not showing so I can plan accordingly and not have to wait nervously until game time?

1. At this point they have made their position clear: They do not feel that an extra fee should be required to receive the additional 25 games. Could that position change as it did with the St. Louis Cardinals games? Yes, but at this point it has not.
2. No, that is not an option.
3. See #1
4. The 25 extra games were identified by FSW not U-verse. U-verse is not blacking out the games, FSW is not sending them the broadcast but is providing alternate programming. When the 20 extra Cardinals games were in dispute, the list of games was actually published by Fox Sports Midwest not the TV providers who were not carrying them. So far, I have not been able to find a list of the 25 games. Your best be would be to get that list from Fox Sports West.

So basically AT&T is doing nothing. They don't feel they should have to pay extra, so that is that, they don't get the games from FSW, U-verse subscribers don't get Angels. Do I want to wait around and see if their position changes... All this is doing is putting a black eye on AT&T since they are our provider of FSW, in my opinion. Thanks for the replies Texasguy, I appreciate some info on the situation.

Strange that last night's game in Minnesota was in the Angles TV schedule as being on FSW, yet in the LA service area it was on local Channel 13, KCOP. The U-verse guide for KCOP did not list it. I found out about it in the L.A. Times Sports Section.
Is it possible FOX and ATT reached a deal for telecasts on the local My13 (owned by FOX) at a reduced price since subscribers out of the LA market, subscibing to the Sports Package would not see it?. I.E. - if the number of potential viewers is diminished, the extra money FSW wants is reduced also and at the same time the local fans who are burning up the internet over this issue are given what they want. At least I was happy last night, but I would like to know what the heck is going on!
BTW - this is what I was trying to suggest in the above post I made on 05-04-2012.

The game was broadcast on KCOP instead of FSW because the Clippers' playoff games was on FSW and the Dodgers games was on FSPT. Don't read anymore into it.

According to the FSW crawl during last night loss of 3-10 to Texas, the next games that won't be seen by U-Verse and Dish customers are May 15 and May 17.

Other cable providers are showing these games therefor the blame lies squarely on this garbage product, U-Verse. The other providers decided to give their paying customers some value. ATT determined that adding the games would not bring them more money so the said "Screw these people". Clearly customer service is not the game ATT is in. I love trashing this product every chance I get. While I did get Uverse one customer early on, I've talked no less than 10 into staying with Cox based solely on my poor experience with this product.

Quote from {keep it courteous}with my response below it:
"I have 10 baseball cards and sell them to you for a certain price Then I get 4 more baseball cards. Do I have to give you those 4 cards? Unless we agreed that any additional cards I get go to you free of charge I want more money. The real culprit here is the L.A.Angels for pulling the games from free tv. That seems to be happening a lot lately."
If you're making money hand over fist and you want to give me some "value added" so that you can keep making money hand over fist from me, then yes, you do.
