At&t is sorry company all around

I have internet and phone line throught att. I got it around jan, they told me that  the phone line would only cost $1.25 a month if i kept with my internet i chose. come to find it it is now the end of July and they have been charging me for all those months for $12-$13, every month since i had it. my interenet never works it always cuts out and i always have to wait 20 mins or more to speak to any customer rep which is ridiculous. I have had it with AT&t there sorriest company i have ever dealt with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT PICK AT&T FOR ANYTHING

I have never heard of AT&T phone service that costs either of those amounts.  Do you have AT&T U-verse voice VOIP service?

State taxes alone are more than that, not to mention 911 fees, etc.  Wish I could find a phone service for $1.25.

There may have been a miscommunication between the rep who set you up with your service. That is an extremely low price for a phone bill (definitely 1.25, and even 13 is a great price).

I've been on call plan 50 here in MI for about 20 years and right now, the base charge is $13.63/mo (was abt $10 originally).  Of course everything else is added on top of that.

MagicJack is $1.66 per month.  Is that close enough?  Or are you looking for a reliable phone service?
