Caller ID Question

I am noticing that Caller ID sometimes works, sometimes partially works, and sometimes does not work. I haven't contacted Tech Support yet. Just wondering how prevalent this issue is.

Specifically, caller ID often displays a number, but displays "Unavailable" for the name. When I then look online at my calls, the system displays full names for the "Unavailable" callers.

I have also noticed that Call Waiting Caller ID displayed my current call, and not the incoming call.

Any ideas? I did have problems turning on call waiting one day, and then I was able to turn it on the next day. Is there a way to "reset" things and then set it up again?

There should be a drop down menu to choose a voice profile. Select the one in use and then click the reset button next to it. See if the problem continues to occur.

So I'm pretty new to this whole Uverse thing. I am not used to having to fuss with anything at all on my phone line. So please excuse my tentativeness, but I would like to know what pressing the RESET button will actually do, what this Voice Profile is, and why this should fix my Caller ID issue. Is there any documentation or help for the MDC functions?

Sorry, I should have explained. You may have seen when you were signing up, you can have up to two lines. Each line is a "voice profile." What the reset button does is it disconnects it and reconnects it. There is a chance that this may not fix your caller ID issues. If you feel more comfortable, you can call tech support (1-800-ATT-2020) and then have them try to fix it from their side. That way if the reset doesn't work, they will know what next to try immediately.

didn't say if you have uvoice or call vantage or another voip or a pots line. i get those same issues and i have a pots line...

I'm assuming it's U-verse Voice since it's in the U-verse Voice boards...although you're right. It was never specifically said.
