We have 2 phone lines in the house and both are connected to Uverse. The second phone line is my sons phone. When he calls somebody my name, which is the name on the account, shows up on caller ID. Is there any way to have the second line listed under his name even though I pay for it on the main bill? Thanks for any help

Seems like you should be able to set your own caller ID in your settings. But, I suppose that woould open the door to misuse.

No way you can do this yourself, you might want to try calling TS and ask to speak to Tier 2, if it can be done they'll probably be the only ones that can do it.

It CAN be done. Finding someone that will do it.......well good luck. I believe now days most companies like AT&T will only display caller ID which is tied to the billing account name. Has to do with the unscrupulous people that abuse it. Back when my daughter lived at home I had two lines. My caller ID said my name and her's her name. I was able to get it set up that way because I knew some folks at Southwestern Bell at the time. Now days it's almost impossible. Sad but true. Leave it up to one person to mess things up for the whole bunch.
If you can get someone at AT&T that knows what they are doing, all they have to do is put in a change to the CNAM database reflecting the name you want associated with the second number. It usually takes about 24 hours to populate the database for all carriers. It's that simple.

Spent 40 minutes on the phone with tech support and level 2 tech support. The whole time they told me they were working on it and thanked me for my patience. Then after 40 minutes the level 2 guy said both lines have to be listed under the main name on the account. I asked him why somebody didnt tell me that 40 minutes ago and he said he just found out. That was 45 minutes of my life I cant get back

You can show your cell phone's CID (or hide it) when calling out, and different names on each line with Family Talk--so you'd think they could do something like that for VoIP.
ATT even lists each family member by name on the cell bill, with their designated number.
