The channel guide should show only channels that are in the package that the customer is subscribed or can actually get. As it exists, every one of the thousands of U-verse channels shows in the guide and it makes it impossible to know what channels you can actually get, especially when parental locking is enabled where no preview video exists also because every channel has show info shown in the guide regardless if it is a channel you can get. The guide is just a database of all channels in U-verse that is difficult to use.
Two Ideas:
When service is established or changed, AT&T could perhaps set the guide list at the broadcast center to show only the channels that the customer is subscribed to get. Example: If someone is subscribed to U-200 HD package, they should only see U-200 HD channels listed in the guide, not U-300 channels or non HD channels or other unsubscibed channels.
The guide could perhaps remain as-is, but AT&T could have filter options that the customer could set at home. Filters for U-100, U-200, U-300, U-400, HD, STD at a minimum.
ALSO, AT&T IS THIS THE ONLY FORUM WHERE CUSTOMERS CAN MAKE SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS?

You have two options:
1) Channel Shortcuts: MENU > Live > Channel Shortcuts
2) Hide unwanted channels: MENU > Options > Channel Options > Hide channels

I like how Dish has their guide setup. Press guide button once for all channels, 2nd time for subscribed channels, and 3rd press for all hd channels. The 3rd guide press can also be setup for your favorites, sports, etc..

I like the way that works. Maybe AT&T should adopt that software update?

If it comes out on the next update of MS MediaRoom since that's what Uverse operates on. ![]()

Your Results May Vary, In My Humble Opinion

Oh, I completely agree! We were just looking for a way to do this, since we've just upgraded packages. The only way to see what new channels we actually have is to look through the tiny channel lineup print guide :/ I came to the forum in hopes of finding some trick, either with the box or online.
Any method of filtering based on packages would be great!
